Angela Best is a contestant from Survivor: Eyre Peninsula.

Notorious for her constant flipping and atrocious challenge performances, Angela was known for her constant paranoia of being voted off, and frequently flipped on alliances- often unnecessarily- to keep herself in the game. This would wind up being her downfall post-merge, when an alliance member found her untrustworthy and worked with both alliances to orchestrate her elimination.

Personal Claim To Fame: Dropping out of my journalism degree and devoting my entire life to family.

Pet Peeves: Arrogance, people who are pretentious, people who think they're “leaders”, people who don't spend enough time with family. 3 Words to Describe You: Family-orientated, sociable, loyal.

Survivor Contestant You Are Most Like: Rupert. He's a loveable character, never turned his back on his alliances, and sacrificed his spot in the game for his wife. I admire him.

Reason for Being On Survivor: It's time I actually went outside and did things. I don't want to be known as “the housewife” anymore.

Why You'll Survive Survivor: Because I've got a good social game and am one tough lady.

Survivor: Eyre Peninsula[]

Unlike the rest of her Eyre Peninsula castmates, Angela ended up on the Van Diemen tribe by default, as there were no other buffs to select from. In the first impressions vote, she received 3 votes, as people felt she would be weak. This was not enough, as Raphael Francis received 5 votes, due to his fear of water. He was named Tribe leader. Angela quickly became a motherly, caring figure to her castaways and they enjoyed her company. In the immunity challenge, Angela performed poorly, but her tribe still won, keeping her safe for 3 more days.

On Day 4, like the rest of the tribe, Angela was upset when Audrey Pearce interrupted the musical numner they were participating in, Angela once again struggle in the Day 5 reward challenge, taking a long time on the obstacles and missing her shots. Van Diemen would lose the challenge. After the challenge, Angela felt guilty when Timothy Holden blamed himself for the loss. When the tribe discussed whether to throw the upcoming immunity challenge, Angela voted no, as she felt she might be voted off instead of the planned target, Audrey. At the immunity challenge, she struggled yet again, but was spared when Van Diemen won the immunity challenge.

On Day 7, Angela celerated Horatio Ellison's birthday with the rest of the tribe and prepared the rice "cake" which they all later enjoyed. At the next reward challenge, she was sat out- along with Lilith Garcia- for her physical weakness. Van Diemen won the reward, and at the hotel, Angela formed an alliance with tribe leader Raphael and physical heavyweight Richie Forsythe. In the next immunity challenge on Day 8, Angela was one of the puzzle solvers. She did okay, but got frustrated at Richie for disobeying orders. Van Diemen lost the challenge, sending them to their first Tribal Council. Back at camp, Angela and her alliance- worried for Richie's place in the game- agreed the smartest thing to do was take out Lilith, who had also struggled in the challenge. Angela believed she was on the chopping block, but at Tribal Council, she received no votes, as Lilith's alliance targeted Richie. Key swing votes Timothy Holden and Anastacia Greenwood sided with Angela's alliance, sending Lilith home 6-4.

When the rain came down on Day 9, Audrey went out in the freezing cold just to get away from Kelly Walters. Sensing there was more to it, Angela tried to get her to open up, but Audrey snapped at her. Although Angela was shocked, she shrugged it off. In a change of pace, the reward challenge was held at night. Angela participated as the tribe agreed to sit out their strongest people, knowing they'd have to sit someone out in the immunity challenge. Angela was very slow in retrieving the item- even falling into the ocean- and cost Van Diemen a lot of time. Van Diemen would lose the challenge after Timothy accidentally brought back a duplicate item. In the immunity challenge, she was relieved to be paired with the much stronger Richie, and although she struggled against Thijssen's weakest person, Itsuki Takenawa, Richie was able to use his strength to win them the point. Even though they won the point for Van Diemen, the tribe would lose the challenge in a tiebreaker round, sending Angela back to Tribal Council.

Back at camp, Angela's name was raised for elimination, due to her constant underperforming in challenges. When Angela's alliance suggested getting rid of the unpopular Audrey, Angela felt they should keep her because of her challenge strength, but was relieved to keep the target off her back. However, the mood of Kelly had cost the tribe the challenge and was proving to be an annoyance at camp, and Raphael was worried that Kelly would quit if they didn't vote her off, which would put them down a member. Even after Audrey went on a tirade and insulted the entire tribe, Raphael insisted they get rid of Kelly still. Although Angela was shocked at Audrey's anger, she decided the best thing to do would be putting Kelly out of her misery, and her alliance voted Kelly, sending her home 5-4.

After Tribal Council, Audrey apologised for her actions and wanted to make peace with the tribe. While Angela was grateful for the apology, part of her wondered if it was genuine. The genuity was shown when Horatio hurt his ankle and Audrey helped carry him back to camp. Angela suggested using some of the tribe flag to keep Horatio's ankle steady, but some were hesitant, as they viewed it as a bad omen. Therefore the tarp was used instead. The immunity challenge was individual on Day 13 as both tribes would go to Tribal Council, Angela once again struggled, falling over obstacles and barely able to lift herself up. She finished 7th of 8 people on her tribe, only ahead of Richie, who couldn't figure out how to untangle himself from the ropes. Raphael won immunity for Van Diemen and later won reward for them as well, which meant they would go to Tribal Council. The three of Raphael, Richie and Angela were joined by Wilhelmina Austin, who had lost all her allies and confronted Richie about joining his the day before. When they discussed who to vote out, Wilhelmina suggested Timothy, who she deemed untrustworthy. Angela and the others were shocked at first, but Wilhelmina persuaded them and they agreed. Angela's name was once again raised for elimination due to her weak challenge performance, but after Raphael told Horatio of the plan to blindside Timothy, Horatio leaked it back to him, and they targeted Wilhelmina. Sensing Audrey was a swing vote, Angela's alliance tried to talk to her. At Tribal, Audrey sided with Anastacia & Timothy, tying the votes 4-4 between Timothy and Wilhelmina. Fearing a rock draw, Angela switched her vote at the revote, eliminating her ally from the game.

The next day, Angela's allies confronted her about the flip. Although she had done it strictly to keep herself in the game, Angela lied to her friends and said she had done it for the benefit of the tribe, not wanting to risk powerhouses Anastacia or Horatio going home. Although Richie in particular was angry with her, her alliance believed and forgave her. The Day 15 reward challenge saw Angela struggle yet again, but Van Diemen still won. Sensing that all the weaker people had gone home, Angela became very worried for her position in the game, and even more worried when the immunity challenge was physical. Angela fell over countless times, and Van Diemen lost by a large margin. Angela was convinced she was going home. She discussed with her allies about voting out Anastacia, who would be a threat come the merge. When she left, her allies discussed voting her out, because of her atrocious challenge performance. Although Richie was hesitant, they eventually agreed, as they did not want to go into a challenge with uneven numbers. Angela looked certain to go. Her turning point came when, during an exchange with Audrey. Richie said they were voting out Angela. When Richie accidentally burned an idol clue, Audrey exploded at him, causing Richie's alliance to turn the votes on her and Audrey's alliance to target Richie. Audrey then went to Angela and told her what Richie had said earlier. Furious, Angela went to her alliance and demanded to know if they had talked of voting her out. Richie admitted they had, but insisted they were now targeting Audrey, which was reaffirmed by Raphael, but Angela was unsure if she could trust them. At Tribal, Angela's challenge performance was mentioned. Paranoia took over and she voted for Richie, which sent him home 4-3. Sure enough, her allies had voted for Audrey and not her, and Angela felt guilty.

Angela was in a tight spot upon returning to camp. As she had voted with them, Anastacia's alliance believed she was on their side. although Angela confessed she had made a stupid mistake in doing so. They tried to convince her to join their side by telling her that the other alliance would only want her for her vote. When she met with Raphael and Horatio. Angela was once again attacked for her flip, but Angela defended herself, saying she thought she was going home, and they had actually talked about targeting her. Angela begged them not to boot her out of the alliance, and they decided to give her one last chance. Angela then told them Audrey was looking for the idol, which led to Raphael looking for and finding the idol before her. In the reward challenge, Angela was the caller, as there was no physical element involved. In the challenge she saved Anastacia from being injured when the item she was hoisting fell off and was about to hit her on the head. Van Diemen lost the challenge. The next day, Angela's situation at camp became dire when Anastacia's alliance demanded to know if she was on their side. When she replied she didn't know, Timothy became wary of her. At the immunity challenge, Angela struggled again, but thanks to some members of Thijssen conspiring to throw the challenge, Van Diemen won, and Angela was safe the next three days.

The next day, Angela was forced to make a decision about her alleigance. She chose to go back to her old allies, Raphael and Horatio, which lead to the two Van Diemen alliances being deadlocked with 3 members each. Her old alliance let her back in on the condition that she followed through with whatever they decided, even if it lead to a rock draw, which Angela reluctantly accepted. When Raphael told her that he had found the immunity idol, Angela demanded to see it, to prove that they weren't lying to her, and got her way. In the reward challenge, Angela was a weight distributor, so did not play much of a role. Van Diemen won after Horatio managed to outlast Kris. When someone had to go to Exile Island, the two alliances divided against the other and refused to let anyone go to Exile Island, for fear of one of the opposing alliance members getting their hands on the idol. Angela was disgusted at what she saw, believing they were behaving like children. When the time came to draw rocks, Angela stepped aside, knowing she would not find the idol if she went to Exile. Unfortunately for her, opposing alliance member Anastacia picked the odd rock and went to Exile. In the immunity challenge the next day, Angela went against Itsuki and failed miserably. She lost the point, but Van Diemen still won the challenge, keeping Angela safe for another three days.

On Day 23, Angela became part of a desperate plot to break the deadlock splitting the Van Diemen tribe. Knowing Angela was scared of a rock draw, Anastacia apporached her with a way out: if Van Diemen went to Tribal Council, Angela would flip her vote from her alliance's side to Anastacia's side, sending a strong competitor home and keeping both idols in play at the merge to avoid a deadlock there. Angela, stunned, strongly considered the offer. After being promised a final four deal, she accepted it. However, unknown to Angela, Anastacia's alliance member Audrey went to Angela's old alliance and talked to them about flipping, sensing she was on the bottom of her alliance. It looked as if all hell were about to break loose, with both Angela and Audrey flipping on their alliances. However, they never got the chance to go to tribal as, during the day 24 immunity challenge, Anastacia broke her wrist after a collision with Thijssen's Elijah, and had to be evacuated from the game. Therefore, the tribes would be going into the merge with a 5-5 split.

With her final four deal now out the window, Angela went back to her old Van Diemen allies as a safety net. Knowing Audrey would flip to the other tribe, Angela's main task was to get Timothy to stay on their side. Once again she took on the motherly role and offered Timothy her friendship. When the tribes officially merged on Day 25, the Shrike tribe was formed. When Horatio called a no-strategy day, Angela spent the day with Thijssen's Elijah and she exchanged details of her personal life with him, talking about her struggles as a housewife, but maintained she wouid do it all again. After their chat, Angela believed Elijah would be the flipper she and her alliance needed to stay alive. The next day, she went back to talk to him, and Elijah told her he would only if she swung from the trees. Angela thought she would die, but agreed. Her fears nearly came true when she crash-landed and hit her head hard on the ground, but she came out unscathed. Elijah then upheld his end of the bargain, and she pitched the idea of flipping to him. Before she could finish, however, Kris came up and interrupted their conversation, and Elijah brushed her off. Angela grew weary of Elijah because of this and relayed her fears back to her alliance. Angela's alliance gained a flipper anyway, with Thijssen outcast Itsuki joining their ranks, but they knew they needed the crucial fifth vote to at least tie things up.  At the first individual immunity challenge, Angela did not even last one second before falling off the podium. Dreadfully embarrassed, she sat and watched alliance member Horatio outlast Elijah for the win.

Back at camp, Angela knew they had to swing Timothy, due to Elijah's possible defection. When she broke this news to Itsuki- Elijah's friend- she stormed off, upset, and brought him back to the alliance. With the 5 they needed, it was Angela's job to swing Timothy to their side. She offered him a final five deal, with which he was visibly unsatisfied. The rival alliance then went to talk to Timothy, which Angela did not hear. Before Tribal, Timothy came up to Angela's alliance and asked who they were voting for. They replied Holly, who they had chosen due to her strong performance at the immunity challenge. Knowing that Timothy was not 100% on their side, Raphael and Horatio talked to Angela about the possibility of drawing rocks. She was nervous, but agreed. At Tribal Council, however, that changed when Elijah was targeted by the rival alliance and Timothy flipped to them. Angela, not trusting Elijah and not wanting to risk her spot in the game for him, flipped and sent him home.  With her alliance furious at her betrayal, Angela pleaded one last time to stay in the alliance, but Raphael booted her out. Wasting no time, Angela went to the opposing alliance and sided with them, although one alliance member in particular did not trust her. She promised to reveal who from her old alliance had a Hidden Immunity Idol if she knew she could trust them, but withheld the information. After another dismal performance in the immunity challenge, Angela went to her new allies and they agreed to vote out Raphael, which Angela was very excited about. Angela was later apporached by former ally Itsuki Takenawa, who was fed up with Raphael's overbearing personality, and asked if they could form a secret alliance together if she were to jump ship, which Angela accepted. However, Timothy saw Angela and Itsuki go into the woods and, fearing the worst, campaigned for Angela's elimination. He went to her former allies who were more than happy to get the vote off themselves. Then, when the allies (minus Angela) got together, he pitched his case and they took a vote.

At Tribal that night, Angela boasted about being in the majority and was extremely confident that Raphael would be eliminated. Angela voted for Raphael, but everyone else voted for Angela, much to her shock. Therefore, she was voted out 8-1. Furious, she called everyone "traitors" and "bastards". Before leaving, as Raphael was laughing in her face, she revealed to the Black Hole alliance that Raphael was in possession of the idol.

At the Final Tribal Council, Angela asked the finalists how lying had helped further them in the game, since they'd all lied to her on the night of her elimination. Hazel claimed it was blindsiding Audrey and blaming Timothy for it, which Angela was extremely impressed with. Holly said it was initially faking her friendship with Timothy to bring him into her alliance. Angela seemed disgusted at this and called Holly a fake bitch, and said she didn't give a million dollars to fake bitches. Itsuki said her biggest lie was betraying Raphael at the final five to improve her chances at the Final Tribal Council. Angela asked Itsuki if she thought lying to her on the night of her elimination got Itsuki further in the game, which Itsuki said wasn't a lie because she had every intention of doing it. After everyone's answers, Angela gave her vote to Hazel, for mastering the art of flipping. Hazel won in a 4-3-1 vote.
