Courtenay Giara is a contestant from Survivor: Malaysian Islands.
Name (Age): Courtenay Giara (23)
Tribe Designation: Minat
Current Residence: Los Angeles, CA
Occupation: Surfing Instructor
Personal Claim to Fame: My certificate to teach surfing. People always underestimated my abilities until then. I decided to prove them wrong and I did it. I guess I'll be underestimated in this game as well, but I am ready to prove you wrong.
Inspiration in Life: My mom, she is a cancer Survivor. She inspires me to always keep going. When you feel at the bottom, think about people that feel worse and see how pathetic you are.
Hobbies: Surfing, Drinking, Making Friends
Pet Peeves: When somebody wants me to do stuff I don't want to do.
3 Words to Describe You: Funny, Personable, Friendly
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are the Most Like: Ozzy, without question. Girls always say that they will be the female version of Ozzy and then they suck. I probably won't be different because nobody can be Ozzy, but I will at least try to be a little similar to him.
Reason to Being on Survivor: The money without question. Who doesn't want it. If you say you came here for something different then you lie. The money is always IT.
Survivor: Malaysian Islands
Courtenay started her Survivor journey on the Minat tribe that had been selected by John, the oldest member of the tribe. Courtenay disliked John from the very beginning and the two indulged in several arguments on the way. Courtenay made an alliance with the two youngest guys on her tribe, Martin and Parke, and the three controlled the voting in the first two Tribal Council. Courtenay was remembered for being a little bit of a liability in challenges. She told Martin on Day 10 that she wanted to learn how to fish in case he wasn't there anymore which made Martin curious of what she was going to do. She then indulged in another argument with John. He was being too nasty and she slapped him. She realised her mistake but it was a little too late as when her tribe lost the immunity challenge, she got voted out for her actions at the very next Tribal Council by a vote of 4-1-1. She got betrayed by everyone and the only person she argued with was the only person that didn't vote for her.
