Hazel Barellias is the Sole Survivor from Survivor: Eyre Peninsula, who returned to compete in Survivor: Lombok - Fan Favourites.
In Eyre Peninsula, Hazel was best remembered for her strong strategic and extremely manipulative gameplay. Her first move was to align with Kris Nightingale early, to take the heat off her, where she allowed herself to get close with Kris and completely earn his trust. She used this trust post-merge to call the shots in the Black Hole Alliance, while still letting Kris assume he was calling the shots. Kris's trust in her allowed her to orchestrate the blindside of Audrey Pearce and place the blame on Timothy Holden. From there, Hazel talked her way out of elimination several times and was able to make the Final Tribal Council after defeating Kris in a tiebreaker. At the Final Tribal Council, although Hazel was criticised for poor Jury management, she was praised for her strong strategic gameplay and impressive manipulation of the other castaways, including Audrey Pearce, who she convinced to change her vote from Holly to her. This vote ended up being the deciding factor and Hazel was crowned the Sole Survivor.
Hazel returned for Lombok, determined to remind people why she was the original winner. From day one, Hazel flew under the radar and postioned herself as the swing vote, going between alliances to make the best move for herself. Hazel became a key player in several moves for all alliances and, with her social game and strategic relationships, avoided having a single vote cast against her all the way up to Day 37. At the final five, both alliances relied on Anastacia Greenwood's vote. After a dramatic Tribal Council, the votes came against Hazel due to her powers of manipulation and persuasion, fearing she could disrupt their final three plans and sneak in for the win.

Survivor Contestant You are Most Like: I think Natalie White, sole survivor of Samoa. Everyone underestimated her because they thought she was just a dumb blonde, and she showed them! I plan on showing them too.
Reason for being on Survivor: I've always been really interested in the show since I started watching it (China was my first season). I always said to myself: one day, I'm playing this game.
Why You'll Be The Sole Survivor: I'll be able to fly under the radar. People think I'm a bitch with a bod and nothing else. I'm very persuasive too, as it comes with the job, so I'll be able to make good alliances.

The original winner, Hazel is coming back after three years to "remind people who the true and original Diabla is." Despite being the original player of the aggressively manipulative game- and taking it one step further than others and winning- Hazel feels she has been overshadowed by more popular recent players, such as Winona and Samantha, who she feels are unsuccessful emulators of her game. Hazel knows that she will have a target on her back for being a winner but is hoping that, among all these popular personalities, she can fly under the radar, at least temporarily. She is out there to prove that she hasn't lost a step from her original game and put the other people in their place. Despite wanting to lay low, she will not be afraid to manipulate and strike when the time is right, and teach everyone who's tried to copy her how it's really done.

(1) In No Risk, No Reward, Elijah used a HIdden Immunity Idol, negating Hazel's vote against him.
(2)- That same episode, the remaining votes tied between Hazel and Itsuki, forcing a revote in which Hazel was ineligible to vote. When the votes tied again, there was a rock draw. Hazel was immune from the rock draw as she had been involved in the tied vote.
(3)- In Moving in for the Kill, Anastacia was evacuated, meaning the Tribal Council was cancelled.
(4) In The Shy Guy May Be Our Last Hope, the votes tied between Elijah and Holly, forcing a revote. Hazel did not change her vote.
(5) In It's a Long, Twisted Road to the End, the votes tied in the Final Four between Hazel and Kris, forcing a fire making tiebreaker. Hazel won the challenge and advanced to the Final Tribal Council.

- Hazel was asked what she'd spend the money on. She said she would fix up her mortgage and jokingly added she might go on holiday to Australia. She revealed she would not quit her job.
- Her strategy was questioned. Hazel told Jeff she did intend to play like that, but had to adapt her strategy. When asked if flirting with Elijah was part of the adapting, she and the audience started laughing, which resulted in Elijah sliding away from Hazel.
