Challenges[]

Immunity Challenge (Day 2): Getting Tanked
One castaway would stand at the top of a tower and pour water down five gutters held by five castaways. The water would fill a barrel, which would release a net of puzzle pieces when full. The five remaining castaways would assemble the puzzle. The first tribe to assemble their puzzle would win.
Winners: The Purple Team (Enrico, Melanie, Lucas, Miranda, Freddie, Mary P., Gerard, Vanessa, Rex, Mary C., Toby)

Immunity Challenge(Day 3): Deep In Thought
On a floating platform, tribe members, one by one, must dive down and retrieve eight wheel-shaped puzzle pieces that are clipped underwater. Once all are collected, they must identify the mystery eight-letter word ("treasure"). First tribe to finish wins immunity.
Winners: The Orange Team (Freddie, Mary C., Ralph, Vanessa, Gerard, Claudia, Craig)

Story[]

Day 1[]

Two boats are shown speeding towards Adele Island in Tasman Bay, New Zealand. Aboard two boats are the twenty-two castaways. There are eleven castaways on each boat. One boat contains the eleven oldest castaways and the other boat contains the eleven youngest castaways who will be competing for the chance to win a million dollars.

The two boats reach the island’s shore nearly simultaneously and all twenty-two castaways disembark from their respective boats and head to where Jeff Probst is standing. All twenty-two stand in two separate groups (They are standing with the people that were on their boat) in front of Jeff.

Jeff welcomes the castaways, he then asks one of the castaways, a middle aged man in a plaid shirt, how he feels about the make-up of the groups.

Doug: Well Jeff if I am being honest, if these are the starting tribes I think us older folks are going to be in for an uphill battle.

Jeff notices the woman standing next to Doug shaking her head. Jeff asks the woman if she disagrees with Doug’s sentiment.

Ann Marie: Of course I do. I do not have time for anyone with a defeatist attitude. We might be older but I think it is safe to say that because we’re older we are also wiser…

Jeff notices a young man shaking his head and laughing. Jeff asks the young man if he disagrees with what Ann Marie is saying.

Aaron: Yeah, I mean just because you’re older than me does not mean you’re any wiser than me. In fact I know plenty of people who are older than me who are just flat out morons. Wisdom does not always come with age.

Jeff points at a young looking African American man who is standing with the older contestants. Jeff asks this young man how he feels about the grouping of the castaways.

Ralph: I don’t know Jeff; I mean I am only thirty-two years old so I am not sure why I am on this tribe and not the other. That being said I am happy just to have the chance to be on any tribe.

A smirk creeps across Jeff’s face and he says that he has never made mention of any tribes so far. In fact this game is starting out with no tribes at all. The contestants all look at each other in shock and awe.

Claudia Galvez When Jeff told us that there was not going to be any tribes I immediately began thinking how is this going to work. I mean the whole point of Survivor is to have tribes...right?
Claudia

Jeff informs them of exactly how the twist for this season is going to work. All twenty-two castaways will live together at the same campsite; the game is an individual game from the start. However, Immunity Challenges and Reward Challenges may or may not be team challenges.

Toby Harding I did not care if there were tribes or not. I’m just happy to be in the land of the Hobbits! I hope I run into Peter Jackson. Now that would be cool!
Toby

Jeff asks the castaways if they have any questions and nobody seems to have any, either that or we were not shown anyone asking questions. Jeff then hands Miranda a map to their camp and the castaways head off to their camp.

Chaos ensues as the castaways arrive at camp. Everyone is talking over each other and nobody seems to be doing anything remotely productive. That is until Ann Marie, who has a very loud voice, begins speaking.

Ann Marie: Okay guys we can’t stand around all day and talk. We have to get stuff done, we’ve got a lot of people here so we should be able to bang out a shelter and maybe attempt to make a fire.

I think our best bet is to have some captains out here who can delegate the work to others so that nobody slacks off.

Jody: I think that is a great idea. Anyone want to volunteer to be a captain?

Rex is the only one who raises his hand.

Ann Marie: Don’t everyone rush to become a captain…

Jody: Well why don’t we do this, the captains will be you, me, and…ah…I am sorry I did not get your name.

Rex: It’s Rex…

Jody: Okay good, so the three of us should be captains and we shall delegate what needs to be done.

Ann Marie: Sounds like a plan to me.

Lucas Arvin Those two old chicks have a lot of nerves bossing everyone around. I mean it wasn’t even voted on or anything, they just said this was what was up and everyone fell in line. I’m not sure why anyone would do something like that just a few hours into the start of the game but if putting huge targets on their backs makes them feel good…well then so be it.
Lucas

Things seem to go smoothly, that is until Craig and Aaron begin talking about the shelter situation. Craig thinks that they should build one super shelter where all twenty-two people could live. While Aaron thinks they should make three smaller shelters that would form a semi-circle around the campfire. Craig dismisses this idea as being impractical because it would take too long to build three smaller shelters. Craig says they should focus all of their energy on building one large shelter so that once the super shelter is complete they can focus on the other needs of the tribe.

Both guys decide to ask others what they think about the shelter situation and most agree with Aaron. Craig, realizing that what he wanted to do is not what the majority of the people want to do decides to go with Aaron’s plan and the two of them, along with the help of some of the other castaways begin working on the three shelters.

Toby, Doug, and Mary C. are busy trying to unsuccessfully start a fire. Doug asks Toby for his glasses and after a few minutes of nothing happening they give up trying to start the fire that way. Lucas watches the trio of “city slickers” with amusement.

Lucas Arvin Oh I could most definitely stat a fire but I ain’t fixin to do that right now. I’m just having too good of a time watching these city folk trying to make a fire.
Lucas

Finally, Lucas decides to help out the city folk with their fire making and even he cannot do it. Before he makes an attempt he talks about how he is an avid outdoorsman and he was been making campfires since he was a kid. He then proceeds to fail at making fire and he is clearly upset over this fact.

Doug Bauer The country bumpkin comes along and gives us this big speech about how he was been making campfires since he was a kid and so Mary C., Toby, and I sort of stand back to see him do his thing. Well after ten minutes of him not being able to make fire he sort of just threw his hands up in the air and said he could not make fire because we gathered the wrong wood.

I love how it is our fault that he could not do the one thing he claims to have been doing since he was a kid. Nice epic fail for the country guy.
Doug

We are then taken into the woods where Rex and Ralph are collecting more wood for the shelters. Rex says that he is glad to get some time to talk to Ralph telling Ralph he knows who he is because he is a big Mets fan and remembers when Ralph hit the walk-off homerun against the Mets in 2010.

Ralph does not look at all comfortable with this topic of conversation. He tells Rex that he is glad Rex recognizes him but he would like it if Rex would not go around broadcasting to everyone who Ralph is. Rex says he will respect Ralph’s wishes and will not say a word to anyone about who Ralph is. The two of them then shake on it and head back to the camp proper with the wood they have collected.

Ralph Judkins I am going to be honest with you, when Rex told me he knew who I was I nearly crapped my pants. I absolutely do not want people to know that I have played baseball in the majors because that will lead to people assuming that I am rich and when they assume you are rich they tend to want to can you right away.

The whole Rex situation has me thinking should I think of him as a friend or a foe. After all he could do a huge amount of damage to my game if he chooses to do so.
Ralph

Back at the camp Ann Marie is shown bossing around the castaways who are building the shelter. She stands in front of one of the shelters barking orders at Enrico, telling him that what he is doing is all wrong.

Enrico Lanza Ann Marie was all, I am lion, hear me roar. All I was thinking was, she is bossy let’s vote girlfriend out they very first chance we get. I mean I don’t mind Miss thang bossing me around if she was…you know actually doing work herself but she was just standing there yelling at everyone else...
Enrico

We once again see Lucas attempting to make fire, this time he is joined by Vanessa and Doug. He tries desperately to get the fire going but once again no dice. Doug stands behind him with an amused look on his face. Vanessa asks if she could give it a go and a frustrated Lucas throws his hands up and says, “Fine”. Vanessa almost immediately manages to get a spark which leads to a fire.

Doug gives her a big hug and congratulates her while Lucas stares down at the fire with his hands on his hips amazed that a city girl succeeded at doing something he should have been able to do.

Doug Bauer Oh man, it was so great when Vanessa was able to make fire after Lucas tried and failed to do so. The look on Lucas’ face was priceless, you call tell the guy was so pissed it was freaking great.
Doug

It is now night time at the campsite and all of the castaways are either sitting in the shelters or sitting around the fire. Ann Marie says that they should use this time to get to know each other and the camera cuts to a less than enthusiastic looking Gerard.

Gerard McCourt I am not down with this kumbaya bull crap. I do not give a rats you know what about these other people, especially after having spent damn near ten hours building three shelters. I just wanted to get some sleep but I knew I could not do so because any little thing you do this early in the game will cause you to stand out. So I had to stay awake and take part in this broad’s little meet and greet session.
Gerard

The various castaways introduce their selves to the group. When Enrico tells the group that he is gay a smile creeps across Gabe’s face.

Gabe Milland It is so good that there is another gay man out here. I will have to talk with him tomorrow because even though I am much older than he is, I think that because we have this one major thing in common we are bound to have other stuff in common as well.
Gabe

Both Craig and Ralph lie about what they do for a living. Craig tells everyone he is a high school history teacher while Ralph says he works at a grocery store in the deli.

Miranda tells the group that she is a single mother of two children. From the look on Mary Perkins’ face it is clear that she does not approve of someone that young having two children already and we are about to hear her voice this disapproval…

Mary Perkins Miranda already has two kids and she’s only twenty-three years old! That tells me one thing the girl does not have any morals and she is not someone who I will align myself with.
Mary P.

Gerard feels differently about Miranda…

Gerard McCourt Man I am going to go to hell for saying this but Miranda, anyway you look at it is hot. She is a total MILF and yes I feel like an old perverted creep saying that but hey the truth is the truth.
Gerard

The next person to introduce himself is Freddie. Freddie proclaims himself to be the following…

Freddie: Hey everyone I’m Freddie, I love to make people laugh, I love to have a great time, and that’s why people call me the Armenian Animal!

Freddie then proceeds to howl like a wolf. Doug and Gabe look at each other and chuckle at the sheer absurdity of what just happened.

Claudia introduces herself and talks a little about her life. The camera pans over to Lucas who is practically drooling all over himself while Claudia is talking.

Lucas Arvin Good gawd Claudia is fine as hell. America I think y’all just met the future Misses Lucas Arvin.
Lucas

It is now Gerard’s turn to introduce himself to the group.

Gerard: Hi my name is Gerard and I am a podiatrist. I am also very tired and I am going to go to sleep now if you all don’t mind.

The group laughs as Gerard goes and lies down in one of the shelters.

Claudia Galvez I am not going to lie, when Gerard told the group that he is a doctor I was kind of turned on. Maybe he is the doctor that my mother keeps nagging me to marry...
Claudia

Aaron gives us this gem about himself…

Aaron: Hey I am Aaron, I have a girlfriend back at home and I have no kids. At least not that I am aware of…

Ann Marie is shown rolling her eyes at the last comment before she gives us a nighttime confessional…

Ann Marie Zaccaro I can tell that I am not going to get along with Aaron at all. The kid is very crude and extremely immature and he is not someone I want to be around.
Ann Marie

The rest of the castaways introduce themselves and when everyone has finished introducing themselves they all get into the various shelters and call it a night.

Jody Yeun It was very interesting watching where everyone chose to sleep. The youngest people all seemed to head into one shelter and then the rest of us just went wherever we could find a place to sleep. I made a mental not of who slept where because I could easily see alliance formed by who sleeps in what shelter.
Jody

Day 2[]

Day two begins with Enrico, Aaron, Lucas, and Ralph lying out on the beach shooting the breeze while watching some of the younger women who are out swimming in the water.

Aaron: I hope I am not being too forward right now but have any of you guys thought about alliances?

Ralph: Nah man, nobody has approached me just yet but I am more than open to getting a good alliance together.

Aaron: My thoughts exactly, I was actually just thinking that maybe the four of us should form an alliance. After all, besides that Freddie dude, we seem to be the most athletic guys out here so it only seems natural that we work together.

Enrico: I totally like the way you think. After all I have a very strong feeling that the weak are going to be targeting the strong in this game right out of the gate because it is an individual game. So we might as well take a stand and say hell no we won’t go from this game.

Aaron: Yeah, that was what I was thinking. You know the old folks and the weak players are going to gang up on us so we might as well get them before they get us.

Ralph: The thing is guys, four out of twenty-two people aren’t going to make much of an impact voting wise. We need to get more people to work with us. I’m thinking a couple of females would be just what we need to have a strong alliance.

Aaron: Do you have any ideas?

Lucas: Claudia for sure. I mean damn guys do you see how she rocks that bikini. That is someone I want to see go deep in this game.

Enrico (Rolling his eyes): I’m sure you do…guys if we’re going to add others into this alliance I think you guys should think with your big heads and well you know…

Lucas: What about that Freddie dude?

Ralph: I think that would be a no go man.

Aaron: I agree that guy seems like he would be too much of a wildcard. It just seems like there is something off with him…I mean did you see him howling like a wolf last night?

Ralph: Yeah man that dude is a couple of screws loose, we don’t need to be dealing with his crazy ass. Hell I would rather work with old ass Doug than work with crazy ass Freddie.

Aaron: Why don’t we just make an alliance with the people that were in our shelter last night? It makes sense because we were all drawn together last night maybe that means we’re destined to form a super alliance.

Ralph: So you’re talking us four plus Claudia, Melanie, and Selena? Yeah man I think that could be doable. But the thing is we have to make sure they want to work with us because if they don’t then we’ll have to find others to work with.

Enrico: I don’t you worry about a thing; I have a way with women. They see me as one of the girls, I’ll tell them what is up and I am sure they’ll work with us.

Aaron: I just want to make one thing clear about this whole alliance deal and that is that the four of us are the priority members of this alliance. We are going to be the core group no matter what. Anyone else that we bring in on this is cannon fodder if push comes to shove and we’ve got to get rid of one of our own.

The guys all agree and then they get up and head their separate ways.

Ralph Judkins I wasn’t really looking to be in an alliance so early in this game just for the simple fact of not knowing these people all that well. I mean I slept in the same shelter with these dudes and that all of a sudden means we’re going to be in a ready made alliance.

I don’t know man…I would have liked to have gotten to know people first but that is also tough because if you wait around too long folks around you are going to be putting things together without you and then you are screwed. I just hope I made the right move.
Ralph

Lucas Arvin I like being in a power-alliance right from the start. But I don’t like the fact that the queer guy is in the alliance. He wouldn’t of been my first choice but it is what it is. He was there sitting with us and so he is part of our alliance.

I am also nervous about him bringing some chicks into the alliance. Not cuz I don’t want to work with chicks, nah that ain’t the case. It is more to do with him being a lot like them and so if we are put into a situation where we have to vote out one of our own…well he will probably choose them over us.
Lucas

Back at the camp Ann Marie is complaining about how people left their rice cups all over the place and nobody bothered to collect them. She stalks around the camp muttering to herself about how she is the only one who does any work and how everyone else is a slob. Doug and Gabe laugh at her as they watch her from a distance. Gabe says that she should calm down before she has a heart attack. Doug laughs and says she should calm down before she gives him a heart attack.

Vera goes over to Ann Marie and asks her what is wrong and Ann Marie begins listing off a laundry list of what is wrong with the camp. Vera tells Ann Marie to calm down because a lot of what Ann Marie is complaining about is out of her (Ann Marie) control and she does not need to have the burden of stress over it. Ann Marie takes a moment to calm herself before agreeing with Vera.

Vera Roché I think Ann Marie is a very nice person but she has a strong work ethic and I am not sure if she understands that many around here do not have that same work ethic. Ann Marie needs to keep calm and do her thing and not worry about what others are or are not doing. If she does that, then I think her experience out here will be far less stressful.
Vera

Back at the beach area Enrico and Aaron are trying to sell Selena and Melanie on working with them. Both women seem open to working with them but Melanie voices her concern about there being more men in the alliance than women. She says that she knows the whole bros before hoes code and she does not want to be on the short end of the stick when it comes to having to vote each other out.

Aaron assures the women that will not be the case and that all the members of the alliance would stand on equal footing. Melanie says if that is the case then she would like to see if there is another woman that might be interested in joining them just so the alliance would be evenly split along gender lines. Aaron, who is clearly not interested in this, reluctantly agrees but cautions Melanie about who she talks with because he does not want everyone in camp to know about their machinations. She tells him not to worry, she knows the perfect person to get on their side and she knows for a fact that her target will say yes to working with them.

Aaron Brzezinski I kind of regret asking Melanie to work with us because I have a strong feeling she is going to be very hard to manage. I want yes men around me; I don’t want someone who thinks they are an equal partner in this.
Aaron

Toby is sitting by himself on a fallen log in the woods near where the camp’s water supply is. He is soon joined by Mary C. who asks Toby if she can join him. The two start talking about how they already feel like outcasts. Mary C. says that she is used to being an outcast but it still sucks that people make judgments about her based on her looks before they even get to know who she is as a person. Toby tells her she is preaching to the choir, because that is exactly what people do with him. They both make a pact to watch each other’s backs.

Mary Cabral Toby seems like a nice enough guy and I probably have more in common with him than I do with anybody else out here. So it is nice to know I have someone I can turn to while I am out here.
Mary C.

We now get to see who Melanie’s target for the mega-alliance is as she is pitching the alliance to Briana. Briana jumps at the opportunity to be in an alliance and she tells Melanie that she is grateful for the opportunity.

Melanie Burton I brought Briana into the fold because I know she is someone I can control. There is no doubt in my mind that I will tell her to jump and she will ask me how high and where would I like her to land.
Melanie

Briana Roden I have just agreed to join a super-alliance! How cool is that?

I did not think people were even making those plans this early but whatever. I am just glad I am on the ground floor of this alliance!
Briana

Enrico is sitting out on the beach once again and he is soon joined by Gabe. Gabe tells Enrico that it is nice to have another gay man in this game because at least there is one person out there that knows the struggles he has been through. Enrico nods his head and occasionally says “Yeah”, in agreement to what Gabe is saying but it is clear that Enrico has little to no interest in what Gabe is saying to him. Gabe finally finishes by saying if Enrico needs someone to work with Gabe is open to an alliance with him. Enrico once again just nods his head in agreement and shakes Gabe’s hand without really making a commitment to an alliance with Gabe.

Enrico Lanza Gabe comes up to me today and he just goes on and on about gay pride this and gay pride that and how we’re supposed to join forces because we’re both gay or whatever. All the while I am thinking about how gross this guy is and how I would never work with an old queen like him.

Gabe just because we both like men doesn’t me we have some sort of connection, so get your old wrinkly ass out of my face so I can get some damn sun. Okay Miss thang.
Enrico

Gabe Milland I tried talking with Enrico about working together and he did not seem very receptive to the idea. I mean he did not shoot me down but he made it clear that he was very disinterested in my proposal. I could have helped him out but I guess he has other plans in this game that do not include me.
Gabe

Craig and Vanessa go and retrieve treemail, the duo return to camp where Craig proceeds to read the clue. In the treemail clue the players are informed that the youngest male and the youngest female will be team captains for the upcoming Immunity Challenge and it is their job to select the teams via a schoolyard pick. The only rule of the draft is that they must choose a member of the opposite sex to be on the team and the person who they choose must do the same and it will continue that way until everyone has been picked for a team.

Immunity Challenge:

The two teams enter the challenge site and Jeff explains the rules of the challenge to the castaways. He then reminds the castaways that the losing team will head to Tribal Council and one of the members of that team will become the first person voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

After a brief discussion on who was to do what during the challenge here is how the tribes decided to tackle the challenge:

The challenge begins and both teams have the same idea of how to arrange their gutters, as both teams hold their gutters up so that it is a straight line to their respective barrels. The Purple Team gets out to a quicker start as Mary C. seems very calm while the pourer for the Teal Team, Jody, seems like a nervous wreck as she allows her team’s water to spill everywhere.

The Purple Team puzzle pieces are released first and their puzzle solvers begin solving their puzzle. The Teal Team finishes moments later and they begin solving their puzzle. Gerard and Vanessa take the lead in solving the Purple Team’s puzzle and they are beginning to fly through it. Ann Marie is trying to do the same for the Teal Team but nobody seems to be listening to her.

As the Teal Team falls further and further behind, Ann Marie gets louder and louder until her teammates are forced to listen to her. Ann Marie actually helps the Teal Team mount a comeback but it is a little too late as Gerard and Vanessa lead the Purple Team to victory!

After the Purple Team is done celebrating their victory, Jeff hands Vanessa the Immunity Idol. He then informs the members of the Teal Team that they will be heading to Tribal Council tonight and one of their own will be the first person voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

The castaways return to camp and Aaron, Ralph, Claudia, Melanie, and Briana immediately break off from the group.

Aaron (Looking at Claudia and Briana): From my vantage point it seemed like Ann Marie was the person who cost us the challenge. Or am I mistaken?

Briana: It would appear so. I mean her constant screaming did not help out much. She got me a little frazzled during the puzzle part.

Claudia: Yes but once we started to listen to her; we got back into the challenge.

Ralph: But we still lost and a loss is a loss no matter which way you slice it. We’re still heading to Tribal Council tonight and it is partly her fault. Plus she’s really annoying anyway so we might as well take her out now and call it a night.

Claudia: There is no doubt that she is annoying and bossy but she really isn’t the main reason as to why we lost that challenge. If anything it was Jody’s fault for not being able to pour water correctly. She was spilling water all over the place and because of that we were already behind in the challenge.

Aaron: But if there was a calmer situation during the puzzle part of the challenge perhaps you could have gotten that done quicker.

Brianna: I think I could have focused better if she was not yelling at me…

Aaron: Exactly! I think that settles it, Ann Marie should go tonight.

Melanie: That is all well and good but we only have five out of the eleven votes at Tribal tonight. You should try and lockdown one more vote at the very least so you will have majority and you can make sure she goes home.

Ralph: Good point. I haven’t really had any conversations with anyone else who was on our team today but Craig seems like a chill dude. Maybe we should talk to him and see if he wants to work with us for this vote.

Aaron: Sounds good to me man. Okay so Ralph you and I will go try and lockdown Craig’s vote. Melanie can you go and tell Lucas about who we are planning to vote out tonight? Claudia I need you to inform Selena about who we are voting for. Okay guys this looks like it should be a pretty easy vote.

Claudia Galvez I never agreed to join the super-alliance or the Great Eight as they are calling it. I just sort of nodded while Lucas pitched the idea of the alliance to me. I guess now I am in the alliance but I really don’t think their target is the right one.

Jody was the person who put us behind in the first place so I think she should go. But they want to blame Ann Marie for the loss because not many people around here like her. I am not happy about that but I am not sure I want to make waves just yet. Maybe I will just go along with my marching orders and get rid of Ann Marie.

I will say this though; I did not appreciate how Aaron and the others marginalized me during the conversation. That is something I am not going to forget any time soon.
Claudia

Ann Marie, Jody, and Vera are discussing who they are going to be voting for. Ann Marie says that her vote is going to go to Briana because Briana did nothing but stand there while everyone else worked on the puzzle. Vera says she noticed that as well and she thinks that Brianna is as good of a target as any to get rid of. Jody agrees with the sentiment as well and says that she will vote with them as well.

Vera says that the three of them should work together because they are the three oldest women and nobody will probably want to look out for them. Jody and Ann Marie both seem thrilled at the idea of the three of them working together. Ann Marie says all good alliances need a name and Jody jokingly says they should call themselves the Golden Girls. All three women laugh and agree that it is a both a funny and good name.

Vera Roché I guess I am part of the Golden Girls alliance with Ann Marie and Jody. I am not sure who is going to be the Rose of the group but I will tell you this much it is not going to be me.

I think it is going to be fun to have an alliance of older women working together and I hope the three of us can make our mark on this game.
Vera

Aaron and Ralph approach Craig asking him if he could talk to the a bit. The three men head out of camp and once they feel that they are far enough out of camp they begin talking business.

Ralph: What are your thoughts about tonight’s vote?

Craig: Honestly…I have not given it much thought. I was thinking that maybe I would vote for Jody but I am open to voting for other people if that is what the majority wants to do.

Ralph: Cool…would you consider getting rid of Ann Marie instead?

Craig (He thinks for a moment before answering): I don’t know man. Sure she is a little bossy but that woman is a workhorse and she is someone we could use in this game…

Aaron: Workhorse? You can’t be serious about that. All she did yesterday was bark orders at people while she stood around and did jack crap. If that is your definition of a workhorse, I think you might need a new dictionary.

Craig: Well every time I saw her she was working, so I can only go by what my eyes saw.

I guess you two are looking to get rid of her though…

Ralph: Yeah, I mean it is day two and people around camp are already sick of her. Imagine what it will be like in a couple of weeks. She is one of those people that you get rid of right away.

Craig: I hear what you’re saying…I really do. But the fact of the matter is she is not the main reason why we lost the challenge today. It was Jody who put us behind in the first place and so I think she should be the one who goes tonight. I’ll be honest with you; I cannot in good conscience get rid of someone who did not cause us to lose.

Ralph: Fair enough but what if I told you she played a pretty big part in the loss? A couple of the girls told me that her constant yelling at them caused them to be flustered and so she really is a big part of the reason as to why we’re heading to Tribal Council.

Craig: Are you sure they just did not say that in order to get people to go after Ann Marie though? A bunch of cute young women cried witch in Salem and we all know how that ended up.

Aaron (annoyed): Look man; let me be blunt with you instead of dancing around here. Ralph and I represent an alliance of eight. Five of which were on our team today. We just need one more person to vote with us so we have the majority and we thought that one person could be you. Now if you aren’t interested in being an associate of our alliance, then perhaps we will target you for the vote tonight and forget all about getting rid of Ann Marie.

Craig: Excuse me! You’re going to come at me like that? You skills of persuasion have a lot to be desired man...

Ralph: Aaron didn’t mean it…he is just a little upset over the loss today. That being said we do represent a group of eight and we would appreciate it if you would vote with us today to get rid of Ann Marie.

Think about the strength in having eight others watch your back. It is the right move to make Craig.

Craig: I’ll tell you what, I’ll think about what you said. That is all I can really do right now…

Ralph: Cool and that is all we can really ask for man.

Ralph Judkins I could kill Aaron right now. I can’t believe he was stupid enough to threaten someone we we’re trying to get to work with us. I just hope that Craig is a rational enough guy to understand my pitch about there being strength in numbers and overlook what Aaron said to him.

This is exactly why I did not want to jump into an alliance with a bunch of people who I did not know. Because you never know if they are going to pull some bull like Aaron pulled.
Ralph

Tribal Council:

Jeff Probst welcomes the castaways to Tribal Council. Jeff then gives his usual spiel about the torches and fire and is life and all that jazz. Jeff then waits for the castaways to light their torches and get settled into their seats before he asks the first question.

Jeff asks Doug what camp life has been like living with twenty-two people. Doug laughs and says it has been very chaotic but some people like Ann Marie have stepped up into leadership roles and she along with a couple of others have really helped to make camp life a little less chaotic.

Jeff turns his attention to Ann Marie, he says that a lot of the times being a leader this early in the game does not bode well for the person who decides to take up the leadership mantle. Ann Marie agrees but she says she is a doer and she does not like sitting around while others decide what should be done first. She says that she knew what needed to be done and so she did what she felt she needed to do.

Jeff asks Claudia how she feels about the no tribes twist. Claudia says that it threw her through a loop because she came expecting to play the game one way and now she might be forced to play the game in an entirely different way.

Gabe chimes in and says he completely agrees with Claudia. He says that with the twist he is never sure who he could possibly be working with when it comes to the voting process. Just for the simple fact that someone may be on your team one day and on an opposing team the next. Gabe says this twist has caused a whole new wrinkle to the game.

Jeff directs a comment towards Ralph which was you may not know who will be on your team from challenge to challenge but you still have to try to work with people in order to stay in the game. Ralph says he agrees and he knows that alliances will form because it is always good to have others to watch your back.

At this point Craig begins to smirk, Jeff notices said smirk and asks Craig if he thought something Ralph said was funny. Craig says that he finds it funny that Ralph knows there are alliances in the game because Ralph is in one of them.

Aaron shoots Craig a death glare while Ralph shrugs his shoulders and smiles. Ralph then says that he is in an alliance and it would be stupid to try to play the game without being in an alliance.

Craig then says that he is glad that Ralph is being honest with people. Craig then tells everyone how Aaron and Ralph approached him earlier in the day and how they represented an eight person alliance who wanted to get rid of Ann Marie. Craig said that five of the eight were going to be voting tonight.

Ann Marie looks around frantically at the other castaways, not knowing who could be in this alliance. Ann Marie asks Craig if he knows who is in the alliance besides Ralph and Aaron. Craig says he does not know, but what he does know is he plans on voting for Aaron tonight because Aaron tried to bully him into voting with the alliance. He then suggests that anyone who not part of the five vote with him to get rid of Aaron because the castaways need to police their own.

Aaron calls Craig a punk and laughs off the bullying allegations. He says he wanted Ann Marie gone because she was bossy and the main reason why the team lost the challenge. Aaron then claims there is not super-alliance out there and that Craig is trying to scare people into voting with him.

With that last comment it is time to vote. The castaways begin the voting process and when the last person finishes voting, which was Vera, Jeff goes off to retrieve the votes. Jeff proceeds to read the votes and in the end Aaron is the first person voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

Night 2[]

The members of the team that lost the previous Immunity Challenge return to camp after having just voted out Aaron. Lucas surveys the returning players and notices that Aaron is not among them.

Lucas approaches Ralph and asks him what happened. Ralph waves his hand and says that things did not go as planned. Ralph and Lucas then walk over to where Craig is standing and Ralph asks Craig if he would like to talk about Tribal Council. Craig says he would rather wait until the morning when everyone has clearer heads. Ralph says he will respect Craig’s wishes and heads over to the “young” people’s shelter to talk about what happened at Tribal Council.

Ralph Judkins I’m going to allow Craig to get his beauty rest right now. But come tomorrow he is going to have to answer for the crap he pulled tonight and I am not sure if it is going to a very cordial conversation.
Ralph

Day 3[]

Day three begins with all of the castaways doing various odd jobs around the camp. Selena and Briana are the only two who are still lying down in the shelter. A disapproving Ann Marie watches them for a moment before turning to Vanessa and mentioning how neither girl really does much around camp while everyone else is always doing work. Vanessa shrugs her shoulders and reminds Ann Marie that both girls are really young and so they might not the work ethic that everyone else has. Ann Marie says that Vanessa herself is in their age range and she does her fair share of the work. Vanessa, who really seems to be disinterested in the entire conversation, shrugs her shoulders again and chalks it up to her upbringing, telling Ann Marie that her parents always pushed her. Ann Marie finally drops the topic of conversation and walks away.

Vanessa Schurz I like Ann Marie, I truly do but she is one intense person and I would not be surprised if she is out of this game sooner rather than later.
Vanessa

A little later on in the day Ralph and Lucas approaches Craig to talk about the vote.

Ralph: Hey man do you want to talk about the vote now?

Craig nods his head before sitting down in one of the shelters.

Craig: What exactly do you want me to address? I voted someone out who had threatened me; I really do not think there should be any more of an explanation than that.

Ralph: Look man I understand why you did what you did and truth be told I don’t blame you for doing what you did. Aaron shouldn’t have come at you like that and if I knew he was going to come at you like that I would have talked to you by myself.

But, here is what bothered me. You could’ve taken him out without blowing up my spot and the people I am affiliated with.

Craig: How exactly was I supposed to do that? I did not have enough time to get people to vote with me so I had to get them to know that there was a known threat out there and I had to do it at Tribal Council.

If I was unable to do it at that point…well I would not have had the votes to get rid of Aaron. I mean shoot it took a huge risk handling it the way I handled it.

Lucas: But you done put a big ass target on your back and for no reason…

Craig: I guess you are part of the super alliance then…

Yeah I put a huge target on my back but the way I look at it is this, if there is a huge group of people out there and I am not a part of the group then I need to get rid of that group. Especially when one of the members of said group threats my life in this game.

I am an easygoing guy but if you come at me with fire, then you better watch out because you might be the one who ends up getting burned.

Ralph: Look you did what you did; I actually respect what you did. At the same time I need you to know that the next time you and I are on a team together, I am going to do everything in my power to get you out of this game.

Craig: That’s cool with me man, I wouldn’t expect you to do anything less. It was good talking to you and I am glad we could do this in a civil manner without threating each other.

Craig Drexler Ralph seems to think he is running stuff around here game wise and for all I know that may very well be the case. But that does not mean that I am going to cower in fear when he tells me he is going to vote me out. If that is what he wants to do, then that is what he wants to do.
Craig

Doug, Gabe, Toby, and Mary C. are discussing what went down at the previous Tribal Council as they head into the woods to get some water from the well. Doug says that he would like to find out who else was in the super-alliance that Craig brought up. Gabe says that from the way the vote went down he thinks that one of the members did not vote with the group and he has narrowed down who he thinks is in the group that voted but he is not sure who was the person in the group that cast the rouge vote.

Doug says he thinks it was Claudia because it seems like not many people are bothering with her today. Mary C. says that she noticed that as well and she also noticed that Claudia was not hanging around Selena and Melanie as much today as she has been during the previous two days.

Meanwhile Claudia, Lucas, Ralph, Melanie, and Briana are talking over Claudia’s rouge vote from the previous Tribal Council. Ralph begins the conversation by addressing Briana and Claudia.

Ralph: So I talked to Selena earlier about the vote last night and she told me that she voted for Ann Marie like we all agreed on doing. Therefore, I know that one of the two of you were the ones who cast that vote against Jody.

Now I am not one who likes to jump to conclusions without any evidence but Claudia you seemed pretty adamant about voting for Jody, so I think you probably did just that.

Claudia: I did…

Ralph: But why? The whole point of being in an alliance is to you know…vote together and get folks out of the game. What you shouldn’t be doing is dropping your vote on some random person.

Claudia: With the way things went down last night, I didn’t feel comfortable voting for Ann Marie. Plus I told you that I did not want to vote for her in the first place and you just brushed me off so that you could push your own agenda through.

Plus it is not like me changing my vote was the reason why Aaron went home. Aaron went home because he did not know how to keep his mouth shut.

Ralph: But that’s not the point…

Claudia: Then what is your point?

Melanie: Look, the fact of the matter is Claudia, you gave your word you were going to vote one way and then you turned around and voted another way. In this game your word is everything and so by you breaking your word…well that means your word means nothing to us.

Claudia: Fine if you can’t trust my word, then I might as well not even bother trying to work with you guys…

Lucas: Now we don’t want that…come on folks we need to hash this out and move on.

Claudia: There is no hashing out Lucas. I am not about to work with people who do not want to listen to or trust me. You guys can be the super six or whatever you want to call yourselves because I’m out.

Melanie: Once you’re out, you’re out. There will be no coming back…

Claudia: I am completely fine with that.

Claudia Galvez I am not about to be a part of an alliance where I feel marginalized. If that means that I have to go it alone…well so be it.
Claudia

Briana Roden Ugh…what the hell is going on here? First Aaron gets voted out and then Claudia drops out of the alliance…this whole situation just sucks.
Briana

Mary P. and Gerard retrieve treemail along with a bag filled with chips, the duo returns to camp where Mary P. proceeds to read the clue. The clue informs the castaways that they must each pick a chip out of the provided bag. Whatever color that is on the chip is the team that they will end up on. For this challenge there will be three teams of seven and the first team to win the challenge will be the only team that is immune from Tribal Council. Here is how the three teams ended up after all the chips were picked from the bag:

The Teal Team

Before the teams head off to the challenge, Ralph quickly pulls Freddie aside and asks Freddie if he is willing to help him throw the challenge so that they can vote out Craig. Freddie tells him that he is not willing to throw the challenge and he will try his hardest to win the challenge. Ralph says he understands but he had to try anyway.

Immunity Challenge:

The three teams arrive at the challenge site and they each stand on their team’s respective mat. Jeff explains the rules of the challenge to the castaways. He then reminds the castaways that the two losing teams will be heading to Tribal Council where one of their members will become the second and third castaways voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

The challenge begins and right out of the gate Briana, who is the first to dive into the water for the Teal Team, is struggling to stay under water for any length of time. Freddie has no such trouble as he retrieves the puzzle piece for his team. Miranda gets the Purple Team’s puzzle piece pretty quickly as well. Briana, who cannot leave the water until she gets a puzzle piece per rule of the challenge, is still struggling while Vanessa quickly retrieves the Orange Team’s second puzzle piece.

This challenge quickly becomes a two horse race as the Teal Team falls out of contention thanks in large part to Briana. Briana does finally get a puzzle piece for her team right about the time that both the Orange Team and the Purple Team have retrieve their sixth pieces.

The Orange Team is the first team to collect all of their puzzle pieces and they quickly head over to the station where they need to solve their puzzle. The Purple Team hits a bit of a snag as Jody is having a hard time diving into the water while trying to retrieve her team’s seventh puzzle piece. This helps the Teal Team to mount a slight comeback as their team members are quick to retrieve their puzzle pieces.

In the end it is all a moot point as this challenge was the Orange Team’s to lose and lose they did not. Much to the chagrin of Ralph, the members of the Orange Team solved their puzzle before the other two teams even got out of the water portion of the challenge and therefore they are the winners of the challenge.

Jeff hands the Immunity Idol over to Claudia, as the other two teams look on in disappointment. Jeff then reminds the members of the Purple and Teal team that they will both be heading to Tribal Council tonight where one of their own will be the second and third castaways to be voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

The castaways return to camp and they all break off into smaller groups to discuss strategy. The now Super-Six Alliance of Ralph, Selena, Lucas, Briana, Melanie, and Enrico head to the beach to talk over what they should do.

Ralph: Well there is one good thing about tonight and that is we control one of the Tribal Councils. I was really hoping that my team would lose tonight and I even broached Freddie about the possibly of throwing it but he was against doing so.

It really sucks because if my team lost that challenge I am sure I could have talked people into getting Craig out. I guess we’ll just have to focus on who we should get out on the Teal Team.

Enrico: If I had my way I think we should probably get rid of Vera. Just for the simple fact that she seems super close with Ann Marie and if we get rid of Vera we’ll be weakening Ann Marie.

Lucas: I don’t know if I want to waste my vote on the old chick. I say we get rid of Mary because she doesn’t seem to be working with anyone and so we won’t be getting any blood on our hands if we get rid of her.

Briana: Yeah but I kind of agree with Enrico on this. I mean there was a line drawn in the sand at the last Tribal Council and Ann Marie and anyone who helped to get Aaron out are on the other side of that line. So I don’t see how voting out Vera is a wasting a vote when it is clear that we have to weaken the people who are out to get us.

Lucas: I understand were y’all are coming from but nobody can convince me that Vera is a threat to us. She’s a feeble old lady who ain’t gonna doing nothing all game.

Melanie: She may be all of those things but as the others have said she is a threat to our game just based off how she previously voted. Look Lucas, we have control of this vote if the four of us vote together we can get rid of someone who may try to get one of us out soon.

Plus, every person’s vote in this game matters. There is not one vote out there that does not matter.

Lucas: Fine, if y’all want to get rid of the old chick I’ll do it because I’m a team player. I just want y’all to know that I don’t think it is the right move to make.

Selena: What I am I supposed to do about my vote?

Ralph: I’m not sure. I have a feeling you might be the target, especially if they figured out that you are part of this alliance.

Enrico: I guess you could plead your case to the others. I don’t really have any ties with anyone on your team so there is not much I can do on my end.

Selena: So basically I’m being thrown to the wolves and if I survive cool and if not well it doesn’t really matter to you guys.

Ralph: Nobody said that. The fact of the matter is there is not much we can do. You got a terrible luck of the draw and you ended up on a team that is made up of most of the people who voted out Aaron.

I don’t want to see you get voted out but there is not much any of us can do to help you out of this situation. The only thing I think of is trying to see if Ann Marie might be interested in getting rid of Miranda. Other than that I am not sure what you could do.

Selena: Well I guess I will try and see what I can do and pray for the best.

Selena Almendarez I hate the randomness of this game. I might be going home tonight simply because I chose the wrong color chip out of a bag.
Selena

Prior to Tribal Council we see Selena trying to butter up/get information out of Ann Marie about the vote. Ann Marie claims she has no idea who the majority of the people are going to vote for at Tribal Council. She then says that even she is not sure who she is going to vote for and there are a couple of people who could end up getting her vote.

Selena says that she would like to pledge her loyalty to Ann Marie and she will vote however Ann Marie wants her to vote. Ann Marie tells Selena it is not necessary to with her because who she votes for will probably end up being a last minute decision anyway.

Ann Marie Zaccaro I think Selena might know she has a very good chance of going home tonight. She spent like ten minutes talking to me, trying to win me over.

Well I have news for her that simply ain’t going to happen. I am pretty sure she voted for me at the last Tribal Council and so I think I am going to repay her for her kindness tonight.
Ann Marie

Teal Team Tribal Council:

The members of the Teal Team arrive at Tribal Council and Jeff asks that any castaway who has yet to get a torch, to get one now. After the castaways comply and settle down onto their respective seats Jeff begins his questions.

Jeff asks Vera and Briana how it feels to be back at Tribal Council for the second day in a row. Vera says it is a pretty nerve-wracking because she does not know where she stands with a lot of the people who will be voting tonight. Briana agrees and adds that it always sucks to lose because you put yourself in danger of getting voted out.

Jeff asks Toby what Toby is finding to be the hardest part of the game thus far. Toby says that living outside has been a huge challenge for him because he is not used to it. He says that the lack of sleep is starting to get to him as well because he starting to feel sluggish every day.

Mary P. agrees saying at tops she is getting about two hours of sleep at night and usually in real life she functions best when she gets at least six hours. She says if she always seems cranky that is one of the big reasons why. The castaways all laugh at that comment.

Jeff asks Lucas how he is going about the vote tonight. Lucas says that he would like to say he was voting on performance but tonight he is voting for reasons other than performance during the challenge.

Jeff asks if it is safe to say that Lucas is in an alliance and his alliance wants him to vote one way while he wants to vote in another way. Lucas reluctantly admits that he is in an alliance and that the majority of his alliance does want to vote out a target that he does not want to vote out. Lucas does make it clear that he fully intends on voting for his alliance’s target because that is what people in alliances do they stick with the people they are working with.

Jeff asks Enrico if Enrico thinks an alliance is sustainable in a game like this when you have no idea who will be on your team from one day to the next. Enrico laughs and says he thinks that an alliance can be sustainable but the people in the alliance will have to work harder at keeping the alliance together.

With that last comment it is now time to vote. The castaways begin the voting process and when the last person finishes voting, which was Mary P., Jeff goes off to retrieve the votes. Jeff then proceeds to read the votes and in the end it is Vera who receives the most votes. This means that Vera is the second person to be voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

Purple Team Tribal Council:

The members of the Purple Team enter the Tribal Council voting area and Jeff asks that any castaway who has yet to get a torch, to get one now. After the castaways do so and settle down onto their respective seats Jeff begins his questions.

Jeff says there are a lot of familiar faces at Tribal Council this evening. Doug wipes some sweat off his forehead before telling Jeff how he just wanted to get to talk to someone famous again.

Jeff questions why Doug would make such a joke after losing so much out of the gate. Doug says that it is in his nature to try to find humor in everything that he does and so he chooses to find humor in losing back-to-back challenges. He says he would rather laugh at what happens to him instead of letting it eat him up.

Jeff asks Ann Marie if Doug’s outlook on the game is something that is wise. Ann Marie says that Doug has his way of coping with things and if that is his way then so be it. She says that there are a lot of times she wishes she could have Doug’s laidback demeanor but she is not wired that way.

Jeff says to Gabe that part of this game is learning how to deal with people who you would not have to deal with in your everyday life. Gabe agrees and says that it is a bit of a learning curve trying to figure out what makes others in the game tick but you have to take the time to get to know everyone and be cordial to as many people as possible because if you are not you could find yourself out of the game really quick.

Jeff asks Rex if alliances are as important this season as compared to any of the previous seasons. Rex says that they are but in this season you may have to make alliances on the fly because you never know who you will be voting with and who may have it out for you.

Jeff asks Miranda if an important part of this season will be knowing who does and who does not like you. Miranda laughs and says that as a player you should be aware of that no matter what the twist in the game is. She does concede that it is probably a little more important for this season to know exactly who you should and should not trust.

Jeff asks how Jody feels to once again be a Tribal Council, Jody says it is tough but it is part of the game and while she would rather not be there again she sees this vote as an opportunity to get rid of someone who might not have her best interests at heart. Jeff asks if she would like to elaborate on what she is talking about, Jody declines to do so.

At this point Ann Marie speaks up and says she would like to add something to what Jody is talking about. Ann Marie says that only one person from the previous Tribal Council that voted against her is at this current Tribal Council. Ann Marie says that both she and a few others fully intend on voting that person out tonight.

Jeff asks Ann Marie who she is talking about and before Ann Marie can answer Selena sheepishly raises her hand. Selena then says that Ann Marie and Jody are talking about her. She says that she knew going into the vote that she was probably the target and that she tried talking to Ann Marie about it but Ann Marie sort of blew her off.

Selena then turns and looks at Ann Marie and says that she had to do what she had to do at the previous Tribal Council for the good of her alliance. Ann Marie smiles and tells Selena not to worry because she is doing the exact same thing tonight.

With that last comment it is time to vote. The castaways start the voting process and when the final person finishes voting, which was Rex, Jeff goes off to retrieve the votes. Jeff then proceeds to read the votes and after all of the votes are read it is Selena who receives the majority of the votes. This means that Selena is the third person to be voted out of Survivor: Free Agents.

Ralph
Craig Drexler Aaron, you wanted to act all big and bad and now you’re hopefully out of the game.

Ann Marie
Briana Roden Omg what just happened? I think we’re still voting for Ann Marie so that is what I am going to do.

Claudia Galvez This whole situation just flat out sucks. I was going to vote with the alliance but now that Craig blew that up, I am just going to go with who I truly felt cost us the challenge.
Claudia
Jody Yeun Well it looks like you intend on trying to vote out one of the Golden Girls so now I am going to have to vote for you.
Jody
Gabe Milland I do not like the fact that there is a super-alliance out there already and I am not a part of it. Therefore I might as well get rid of one of its members.
Gabe
Selena Almendarez You cost us the challenge today and there is no doubt about it. Also, I am just sick of how bossy you are.
Selena
Vera Roché Sorry Aaron but there is another alliance out there and you are trying to get rid of one of my friends so you have to leave now.

Aaron Brzezinski I could kill Craig right now...but if I am being honest with myself I probably should learn to keep my damn mouth shut. I can't believe it is only day two and I am already out of the damn game!

Vera Roché Well you win some and you lose some and I just lost. I really did not want to be the older woman who gets voted out at the beginning of the game but I guess I am.

Anyways, I hope my fellow Golden Girls make it far in this game. I think it would be really nice to have an older woman win this show for once.

Selena Almendarez I saw that coming a mile away. The deck was stacked against me and there was not much I could do.

I do have some advice to people who play this game in the future. Don't jump into an alliance straight away because you could very well end up like me.
