Survivor: Mongolia

Melissa was one of twenty contestants that competed in Survivor: Mongolia. Before tribes were formed, Melissa stayed under the radar and did not make much noise. That was until Nicholas Parrish and Jake Robinson approached her in hopes of forming an alliance on Day 2. That night, they all voted out Wayne Matlock in an 8-2 vote. On Day 5, Melissa drew a yellow buff to represent her being on the Manlai tribe. She and Jake remained allies, but she grew closer to Katie Maxwell as the game went on. Also throughout her time at Manlai, she rustled feathers by being closed-minded when her tribemates, specifically Antonio Dyson, Benjamin Long, and Heather Williams, would share stories of their past. This required Katie to keep her in check and make sure that she did not mess up either of their games. On Day 16, the members of Manlai were absorbed by Noyon and Sevrei when the yellow tribe placed last in the reward challenge. Melissa was picked to be on the Sevrei tribe, where she was once again joined by Jake. The two were then recruited by Scott Colston to create a new majority alliance. They accepted Scott's invitation and went on to turn on their former Manlai mate Benjamin. Afterwards, Jake and Melissa were placed in the middle of a feud between Scott and Julia Liu. Scott targeted Julia for being lazy and whiny, but Melissa went to Julia and revealed his plan to her. They then helped Julia flip the vote on Scott, who was unanimously voted out. After that vote came the merge. Melissa realigned with her former Manlai tribemates and helped try to sway Cassie Abbott and Tony Alvarez to vote with them. Ultimately, they sided against Melissa and the former Manlais as Antonio was the first to go. Even though she was on the outs, Melissa became a force in challenges over the course of the merge. She won three individual challenges and with each victory, she saved herself from elimination when her life in the game seemed over. However, with the challenges she won, she did not replicate the same success to her social game. After winning the final immunity challenge, she did not allow either Elliott Trudeau or Jenn Klesko to argue why they deserve to be in the final two with her. She ultimately chose Jenn as her final two partner, which infuriated Elliott. At the final Tribal Council, she was criticized for her poor social game and questionable strategy. Specifically, Elliott, Antonio, and Jake, who she turned on as well, all bashed Melissa's game and in turn did not vote for her in the end. She only received one vote, that coming from Julia, out of five needed in order to be named Sole Survivor.
