Previously On Survivor...

While a storm ravaged all three camps, Shannon revealed hers and Phoebe's hidden immunity idol to Dave to intimidate him into turning on Chuck. Dave revealed that he and Chuck, too, had an immunity idol, not knowing that John had already told them that. Phoebe contemplated bringing Shannon into an alliance with Dave and Chuck, which would nearly control the hidden idols.

Tokugawa won the combined reward and immunity challenge, with Ashikaga finishing in second, sending Kamakura to tribal council. While Tokugawa took a break from the game to enjoy their reward, Dave told Chuck about Shannon and Phoebe's idol. Dave reiterated his loyalty to Chuck and plotted to vote the women out last out of the remaining Ashikaga members should they all make the merge. He also suggested that they bring Lisa or Patrick to the end, seeing their other options as too threatening. Meanwhile, Phoebe decided that she would recruit Bryce to round out her final three with Shannon, due to her perception of him as paranoid and a poor strategic player.

At Kamakura, Kyle and Hannah could not decide on whether to vote out Lisa or Patrick. Patrick decided to go back on his deal with Bryce and vote him out due to him being the strongest member of the original Ashikaga. Lisa disagreed and wanted to get rid of Kyle, fearing that he was a power player. Bryce, aware of Patrick's scheming, approached him about getting rid of Hannah due to his perception of her and the biggest all-around threat on the tribe. He then relayed information of Lisa and Patrick's disagreement to Kyle and Hannah.

At tribal council, Kyle voiced his frustration with Bryce for playing a perceived selfish game and with Bryce and Hannah for their indecisiveness. In the end, Kyle split his two votes to reduce the possibility of a tie and Lisa was blindsided in a 2-1-1-1-1 vote.

Twelve are left. Who will be voted out next?

Immunity Challenge: The castaways must hold onto a wooden pole as long as they can. Once they fall to the ground, they are eliminated. The last man and woman remaining win immunity.

Night 18

The remaining four members of the new Kamakura return to camp, shocked at how scattered the votes were.

Kyle: I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before.

Bryce: Me neither, man.

Tonight's vote was...crazy, to say the least. Although I'm glad me, Hannah, and Bryce are still around, I'm irritated with Bryce because I don't think he has his priorities in place.

Kyle: Bryce, we need to talk.

Bryce: Okay.

Kyle and Bryce go a short distance away.

Kyle: What the hell were you thinking?!

Bryce: What the hell you think I was thinkin'? Hannah's a bigger threat than Lisa and Patrick. Patrick might be able to get to the end, but if he keeps goin' back on his word like that, he ain't gettin' nobody's vote.

Kyle: Look, we as a tribe were facing a seven-to-six disadvantage. We need to level out the playing field before turning on each other, or else we're all going to the jury. And I don't think any of us came out here to go to the jury.

Bryce: This ain't as much of a team game as you think, Kyle. We playin' every man for himself. That means you gotta take out the big threats before they take you out.

I don't think Kyle really understands the game. I mean, yeah, early on it's a team effort, but once the merge comes, and it's gonna come real soon, you gotta think about your own self. He's a great guy, but that doesn't necessarily make him a good Survivor player.

I don't think Bryce really understands the dire situation the original Ashikaga tribe is in. It's improving, but we could still be in the minority when the merge comes. Bryce is too unpredictable to keep around much longer. As soon as the original Ashikaga tribe is in the majority, he's gone.

Kyle: I understand that. But right now, if we work together to vote out some of the original Kamakuras, we'll all stand a better chance at winning the million. You just gotta trust me on this, okay?

Bryce: I get it, man. If this tribe goes to tribal again, it's gotta be Patrick.

Kyle: Absolutely.

I really hope the merge comes soon, because if it doesn't and we have to go to tribal, I'm dead in the water. Kyle and Hannah probably want me gone next. I guess I'll just have to look for some way to break up their alliance.

Day 19

Shannon and Phoebe go to collect tree mail for Ashikaga.

Phoebe: Who do you think went home last night?

Shannon: One of the original Kamakuras. Lisa or Patrick. Not sure which. But the important thing is that now we're just one flipped vote away from taking control of the game.

The situation for me, Phoebe, and basically everyone from the original Ashikaga is starting to look up. Before the tribe swap, there were nine of them and six of us. Now, there's probably six of each. Momentum is shifting in our favor at just the right time.

Shannon and Phoebe return to camp with a tree mail note and a map. They inform Chuck that as the daimyo of the tribe, he is to follow the trail on the map to a designated area, where he will meet up with Donna and Kyle.

Dave: I think I know where this is going.

Chuck: I think I do, too.

Either the three tribes are merging, or Jeff decided to do some random-ass second tribe swap. Hopefully it's the first, because I could be extremely unlucky if the tribes swap again before merging.

Designated Spot

Kyle, Donna, and Chuck arrive at the designated spot on the map, where they find Jeff waiting with two small crates, a crowbar, and a jar of folded up notecards.

Jeff Probst: The three of you are probably wondering why you're here right now.

Kyle: I can only speak for myself, but yeah, I want to know what this is about.

Jeff Probst: Before the three of you are two crates. In one crate are two sets of six buffs; six black, six purple. In the other crate is a set of twelve scarlet buffs. If you choose the first crate, the three tribes will become two, and the two oldest remaining castaways will draw names from this jar to decide the new tribal affiliations. If you choose the second chest, the tribes will merge, and the three of you will just have to decide on a name for the merge tribe camp to live in. I'll give you all a minute to choose a crate.

After some brief deliberation, the daimyos of the three tribes decide on the crate to Jeff's left. Using the crowbar, Jeff opens it and reveals that it is the crate full of merge tribe buffs.

Jeff Probst: You have chosen the merge. Congratulations. Now what will you name this tribe?

Chuck: Kasai. It's Japanese for fire.

Jeff Probst: Kasai it is. Now I'll give you all a minute to decide on a camp.

Again, Donna, Chuck, and Kyle do not take long to decide on a camp.

Donna: We choose Kamakura, since that tribe won the early rewards.

Jeff Probst: Alright. Kyle, take the crate of merge tribe buffs to the Kamakura camp. Donna, Chuck, get the others from your tribes and head out to the Kamakura camp.

Chuck: Yes sir.

The merge is here, and now the original Kamakura should be back in power. Today's a good day.

While Landon sharpens the machete, he notices Donna returning to the Tokugawa camp.

Landon: So we're merging?

Donna: We're merging. Let's get everything in the canoe and head out to the Kamakura camp. That's where the merge tribe is going to live.

Reyna: So we don't have to live at this (bleep)y campsite anymore?

Donna: Not anymore.

Enthusiastically, everybody collects the tribe's supplies, places them in the canoe, and heads off to the Kamakura camp.

I've been on the outs ever since I arrived at Tokugawa. Hopefully now I can get the numbers back on my side. Or at least end up in the minority when there are a lot of fractures in the majority. It'd be a lot of fun to pit the majority alliance against itself if I'm not in it.

The former Kamakura tribe works on expanding their shelter and replacing the old Kamakura tribe flag with the Kasai flag as the remaining members of the other two tribes arrive at their beach.

Patrick: Welcome and welcome back! Come up and get a buff! The food should be at tree mail in just a bit.

Emma: Ha-ha, it's good to see you too, Patrick.

Now that the tribes are merging, I'm not certain what to do strategy-wise. The alliance with Landon was just supposed to be a temporary thing. But what the hell? We just merged, so I'll just enjoy the feast and get back to the game later. It'll make people nervous if I don't take this time to set gameplay aside.

After everyone's received a new buff, Donna and Reyna go to collect the feast, which is indeed waiting at tree mail. They, with some help from the men, bring the food to the beach, and everyone begins feasting on fresh fruit, bread, champagne, meat, vegetables, cheese, and other foods.

Bryce notices a small note inside a basket of dinner rolls and quickly retrieves it before anybody else notices.

When I saw that note, I knew I had to take it. I'm the strongest person from the original Ashikaga, which makes me a threat to the folks from the original Kamakura, and I'm sorta skating on thin ice with Kyle, so I'm not in a good position right now. If I can just get my hand on that idol - I'm assuming the note is a clue to it - I can at least buy myself some time.

Everyone continues eating and chatting amicably, avoiding strategy until the subject of the new tribe daimyo comes up.

Dave: So Donna, I'm assuming you're the new daimyo since you're the oldest member of the tribe?

Donna: Unless there's a challenge to determine who becomes the daimyo of the merged tribe, yes.

Although it's disappointing that Chuck and I no longer have quite as much power as we had on the new Ashikaga, it's great that somebody from the original Kamakura is the daimyo of the merge tribe. That gives us a seven to six edge in voting. We can just pick the original Ashikagas off one by one from here.

Dave then takes an opportunity to tell his tribe about his failed campaign for a government position in California, which takes everybody but Chuck by surprise. Kyle eyes him suspiciously.

In today's world, there's just one bit of advice you need to remember: Never trust a politician. I can just tell that Dave's a really smart guy, and if he dabbled in politics it's likely that he's also a pathological liar. He's gotta be one of, if not the, first remaining original Kamakura to go.

Day 20

Bryce wakes up, making sure he's the only one, then quietly slips out of the shelter and into the forest at dawn.

Bryce: Let's see here...Special idol...Before the vote...Hmm...I guess it's under something. Challenge accepted.

Findin' this idol is the most important thing I ever had to do so far in this game. I gotta find it as an insurance policy in case I don't win immunity.

Bryce turns over every rock in sight, hoping to find a hole in the ground where the idol might be located. After about an hour, he notices a piece of twine wrapped around a stone in the distance. He runs up to it and turns it over, noticing a small bundle of cloth tied to the bottom of the rock. He unwraps it and finds a small, flat block of wood with the Japanese symbols for safety carved into it. He grins broadly.

Bryce: Man, I dunno how to read Japanese, but this has gotta be it.

Hahahaha! I'm safe! The best thing? This is lying under everybody's noses!

Bryce puts the hidden idol in his pocket and returns to the shelter, where he finds Shannon and Phoebe tending to the fire.

Phoebe: You know you're not going to find anything, right? Chuck and Dave already found the idol.

Bryce: Well that explains a lot.

It's pretty obvious that Bryce went looking for the idol at the first opportunity he got. He's just putting a bigger target on his back. I really want to bring him along as a goat to round out my final three, but I'm not sure I trust him enough. He's unpredictable.

Bryce: So is it the three of us to the end? Kyle, Landon, and Hannah are pretty tight, and if we bring anybody from Kamakura, they'll have the votes needed to win.

Shannon: We've been needing a third person. I'm all for letting you in. What about you, Phoebe?

Phoebe: ...Sure. Yeah, it's the three of us.

Bryce: Awesome. Thanks, ladies.

I got a hidden idol that can serve as my get out of jail free card if I lose immunity, and I got myself a final three alliance! Today's a good day.

As soon as Bryce leaves, Phoebe turns to Shannon.

Phoebe: I'm not totally convinced we can trust Bryce. I had an idea that we could align with Dave, Chuck and whoever found Tokugawa's idol so that we control the idols. What do you think?

Shannon: That's only a good idea if Landon found Tokugawa's idol. If it turns out to be someone from the original Kamakura and we ride that alliance to the final five, we'll be the next to go.

Right now, it looks like we either stick with Bryce and form looser alliances with other people to get a majority, or we go with Phoebe's idol alliance plan, which sounds too risky. I think sticking with Bryce may be the better option.

Later in the day, Phoebe and Shannon approach Landon while he's collecting firewood with Hannah and Kyle.

Phoebe: Hey Landon, did you find the idol over at Tokugawa?

Landon: Nope. I'm not sure who did.

Kyle looks around to make sure nobody from the original Kamakura is present.

Kyle: Listen, we're down seven to six in votes, so we need to stick together.

Phoebe: You mean I the original Ashikaga?

Kyle: Yeah. If we level out the playing field a little more, we all stand a better chance. I'm not saying we should all go to the final six together; I think Bryce is too dangerous to keep around for too long. But we need to knock out a couple of the more powerful Kamakuras first.

Phoebe: Sounds like a plan. Who've you got in mind?

Hannah: Why don't we get rid of Donna first? If we do, one of us will become the daimyo and we'll have a seven to five advantage in votes.

Landon: They'll expect us to gun for Donna. She might have found the idol. I know Kyle wants to get rid of Dave soon, so we've got options.

Shannon: So do you think we should just think about it?

Kyle: Yeah, let's just think about it. We've probably got until tomorrow to make a decision.

Phoebe: Okay, sounds good.

So it's pretty much official that for now, everyone from the original Ashikaga is working together. That's good. Now we just need to get somebody to flip, or at least looks for cracks in the original Kamakura.

Meanwhile, Dave, Chuck, and Donna discuss strategy.

Dave: I'm assuming the plan is to pick off the remaining Ashikagas?

Donna: Yes, absolutely. And it'll be the three of us to the end.

Chuck: Great! Now who do we start with?

Dave: I'd suggest Bryce, since he's the most athletic person out here. He could dominate the challenges.

Donna: That sounds good. But we should also consider voting out a strategic threat soon.

Dave: You have anyone in particular in mind?

Chuck: What about Shannon? She showed you the idol to try to get you on their side.

Dave: We can't vote either of them out until we have enough votes to split, remember?

Chuck: Right. Forgot about that.

It'd be wise to get rid of Bryce first, seeing as how we might not have very many opportunities to do so in the future. But if he does win immunity, we need a viable plan B. That's still in the works.

Soon, Patrick, Emma, and Reyna join, unaware that they would be on the outside of the final three alliance.

Patrick: We need to get rid of Kyle. Bryce is probably expecting us to gun for him, so we need to get rid of somebody else.

Reyna: Kyle? Why Kyle? He sucks at challenges.

Patrick: Before Lisa was voted out, she mentioned that Kyle might be a power player. I mean, he became the daimyo after Patton was voted out. There's no way in hell that was a coincidence.

Chuck: I'm still not convinced. We can get rid of Kyle whenever we want. That's not the case with Bryce.

It looks like the original Kamakura tribe is now in a voting bloc against either Kyle or Bryce. The problem is determining which one will go first. I really hope we can all agree in time, or things are bound to end badly for all of us.

Day 21

Immunity Challenge

Jeff Probst: Come on in, guys!

The twelve members of the Kasai tribe enter the forested challenge area.

Jeff Probst: Welcome to today's immunity challenge. First things first. Chuck, Donna, I will take back the immunity idols.

Chuck and Donna hand over the hidden immunity idols. Jeff promptly puts them aside and reveals two individual immunity necklaces.

Jeff Probst: Tribal immunity is no more. Now, we are playing for individual immunity.

Jeff proceeds to explain the simplistic challenge, stating that the last man and woman still hanging onto their pole will win immunity. The castaways draw for spots and get onto their poles.

Jeff Probst: This challenge has now begun.

For the first ten minutes of the challenge, nobody has much difficulty holding on to the pole. Nobody slides closer to the ground.

At fifteen minutes, Jeff tempts the castaways with chocolate. This proves too much for Emma, who jumps off the pole, eliminating herself from the challenge, for the chocolate. Donna looks on somewhat enviously, but still hangs on despite beginning to fall.

At twenty minutes, a fly flies around Kyle, irritating him and causing him to let go of the pole, which then causes him to fall from about ten feet. The medical team checks on him, clearing him to stay in the game when they see no evidence of a real injury. Shortly afterward, Donna attempts to readjust her position, but ends up falling a short distance, eliminating her from the game.

At thirty minutes, everyone except Chuck has started to struggle, with Shannon just barely hanging on. At this time, Jeff brings out a large cup of chili with Texas toast. Bryce, hailing from Texas, is unable to resist and eagerly jumps down to claim the food. Moments later, Landon and Shannon both end up on the ground after trying unsuccessfully to re-adjust their position. Bryce invites them both to try some of the chili and toast, to which they both agree reluctantly, dismayed that they are out of the challenge.

At thirty-five minutes, Hannah falls, leaving Phoebe as the only original Ashikaga remaining in the challenge. However, Phoebe is eliminated about a minute later, guaranteeing Reyna one of the immunity necklaces.

When Jeff offers a lobster tail at forty-five minutes, Reyna jumps down. Dave, feeling confident, also jumps, leaving Patrick, who is struggling, and Chuck, who hasn't moved since the challenge began, as the only men standing. At around fifty minutes, Patrick jumps down, figuring that Chuck is a bigger target than he is, and that he's going to lose anyway.

Jeff gives Chuck and Reyna an immunity necklace, reminding them both that they are safe from tribal council for the night and are guaranteed a one in eleven shot at winning the million dollars. He then sends the castaways back to their camp for the afternoon.

I beat Bryce in the immunity challenge, so I think that makes it pretty clear who our target tonight is going to be. From there, it'll be smooth sailing.

Upon returning to camp, Chuck and Reyna are congratulated on their immunities, then whisked away by Donna and the others from the original Kamakura to discuss the night's vote.

We've got a majority in votes. Now we just need to decide what needs to go first; their muscle or their strategic minds.

Reyna: So who's first?

Chuck: I think it should be Bryce. He's our biggest competition in challenges. We might not have very many opportunities to get rid of him.

Patrick: I was with him at the new Kamakura. He's a physical threat, but he really isn't the sharpest pencil on the desk. After the last vote, I'm more concerned about Kyle.

Chuck: But Kyle's weak. We can get rid of him whenever we want.

Patrick: But he's a strategic threat. Remember; he was the new daimyo of Ashikaga before the swap. He must have lead some sort of coup. He could easily do it again.

Reyna: I can see where both of you are coming from. I'm not certain who I want to vote for.

I'm a little irked at our indecisiveness as a tribe. I know Kyle's probably a threat, but he's not an immunity streak waiting to happen like Bryce is. Chuck's older, and Bryce is more athletic, so Bryce is probably the biggest threat right now.

Donna: While we have Bryce without immunity, let's go ahead and get rid of him. We'll just get back to Kyle later.

Dave: I'm on board with that. Kyle should also be our plan B in case complications arise.

So now the Kamakura alliance has a plan in place for tonight's vote. Now I just want to know what Landon's thinking. I'm on the bottom of the Kamakura alliance, so I've got to keep my options open.

Emma goes off to look for Landon, and finds him leaving a conversation with the Ashikaga alliance.

Emma: So what's the plan?

Landon: Isn't it obvious? It's Donna. If we can get rid of her, we'll have turned the tables in one fell swoop.

My alliance decided on Dave as our target, since we think they're expecting us to target Donna. When Emma approached me about it, I had to lie in case she had flipped back to Kamakura. But then I realized that I may be the only one who's allies with somebody from the original Kamakura, so maybe I could convince Emma to join us.

Landon: Look, we're actually targeting Dave since he's a more versatile threat than Donna, and a less obvious target. We need one more vote, and you're not in a good spot with the Kamakura alliance.

Emma: You want me to vote with you?

Landon: Yeah. Why would you want to be number six with them when you could be at least number four with us?

Emma: You're not planning on riding the original Ashikaga to the end, are you?

Landon: Frankly, as soon as we have enough of a majority over Kamakura, I want Bryce gone. He's paranoid and a physical threat, and in this game, that's a very dangerous combo. I can promise you that you won't be at the bottom if you join us. But first, you need to convince Chuck and Dave to give their idol to Donna. Tell them that you were eavesdropping on our alliance's conversation and heard that we were targeting her.

Emma: Alright, I'll see what I can do.

I really don't know what to do right now. On one hand, I'm at the bottom of my alliance. Not a good position to be in. On the other hand, I have an opportunity to drastically change the outcome of the game, which could either help lead me to the end or cause me to be seen as untrustworthy. I might not get this opportunity again.

At sunset, the Kasai tribe heads out to tribal council.

Tribal Council

The castaways arrive at tribal council, greeted once again by Jeff Probst.

Jeff Probst: Patrick, how do you feel about the merge?

Patrick: It couldn't have come at a better time, Jeff. I was going to be the next to go on the new Kamakura.

Jeff Probst: Chuck, without the immunity necklace, would you feel threatened in tonight's vote?

Chuck: I would, somewhat.

Jeff Probst: Reyna, what about you?

Reyna: I wouldn't feel threatened at all, Jeff. I'm sure there are bigger fish for people to fry.

Jeff allows a tense silence to linger for a few seconds.

Jeff Probst: Kyle, do you expect that this vote will be based on tribal lines?

Kyle: Absolutely. Even in the three tribes stage, it seemed like it was basically just Ashikaga vs. Kamakura.

Jeff Probst: Donna, as the daimyo, you give the original Kamakura a seven to six advantage in tonight's vote. How confident are you that one of them will go home?

Donna: I'm very sure of it, Jeff.

Once again, Jeff allows silence to linger for a bit before continuing with his questions.

Jeff Probst: Landon, what do you think about this situation you and the other members of the original Ashikaga are in?

Landon: Frankly, Jeff, I'm not as worried as I probably should be. I've been involved in...talks with members of the original Kamakura, you see.

A few members of both original tribes raise their eyebrows at this revelation.

Jeff Probst: Such as who?

Landon: I plead the fifth. I will say this, though; we're gunning for Donna. I know that there are some people who want her gone because she's a threat. Everyone wants to be the king.

The ensuing scene vaguely resembles a Survivor version of The Last Supper, with some people staring at Landon in bewilderment while others turn to each other in consternation. Donna is seen whispering to Chuck, who then turns to Dave, who nods. Chuck then discreetly hands his idol to Donna, a transaction which somehow goes unnoticed by Jeff.

Jeff Probst: Kyle, what have you got to say about this? Your alliance is at a disadvantage, and yet Landon is openly naming its target in tonight's vote.

Kyle: It's definitely bold. I wasn't expecting it at all.

One more time, Jeff allows silence to linger before asking a final question.

Jeff Probst: As hopefully all of you know, a special idol has been hidden at your camp. Whoever has it can play it now and be immune from tonight's vote.

Bryce grins smugly and walks up, presenting the idol and flaunting it before everyone else.

Bryce: Just so y'all know, this was lyin' under y'alls noses.

Bryce hands the idol to Jeff triumphantly and returns to his seat. The Kamakuras look around at each other in astonishment, with Donna whispering to them that they should switch to "Plan B".

Jeff Probst: This is the special hidden immunity idol. You cannot vote for Bryce tonight. Nor can you vote for Chuck or Reyna, as they won immunity. Everyone else is fair game. It is time to vote. Hannah, you're up.

One by one, the castaways go up to cast their votes.

It's time for the ponytail express to leave Survivor station.

–Patrick (voting for Kyle)

This wasn't the original plan, but since we can't vote for Bryce tonight, you'll have to do. Nothing personal.

–Donna (voting for Kyle)

Dave Ellerman, you have been found guilty of conspiring to eliminate the remaining members of the original Ashikaga. You are hereby sentenced to be voted off the island.

–Bryce (voting for Dave)

Emma takes much longer than the others to cast her vote, which is not revealed.

Jeff Probst: I'll go tally the votes.

Jeff leaves to get the voting urn and returns a few minutes later.

Jeff Probst: If anyone has the hidden immunity idol and would like to play it, now would be the time to do so.

After a few seconds' consideration, Donna steps forward and plays the idol Chuck gave to her. Phoebe, Shannon, Hannah, Bryce, and Landon grin at each other broadly while Kyle just looks on.

Donna: I'd rather be the idiot who squandered the idol when she didn't need it than the idiot who didn't play the idol and got voted out.

Jeff Probst: The rules of Survivor state that if a person plays the hidden immunity idol, any votes cast against that person will not count. This is a hidden immunity idol. Any votes cast against Donna will not count. I'll read the votes.

First vote...Kyle.

Everyone from Kamakura grins at each other broadly. Kyle buries his head in his hands, fearing the worst.

Jeff Probst: Second vote...Kyle. Two votes Kyle.

...Kyle. Three votes Kyle.

The grins on the faces of the remaining members of the original Kamakura widen.

Jeff Probst: Dave. Three votes Kyle, one vote Dave.

Now nobody on Kamakura is grinning.

Patrick (whispering to Landon): You said you guys were gunning for Donna.

Landon (whispering): I lied.

Jeff Probst: Dave. Three votes Kyle, two votes Dave.

...Kyle. Four votes Kyle, two votes Dave.

...Dave. Four votes Kyle, three votes Dave.

...Dave. We are tied. Four votes Kyle, four votes Dave.

...Kyle. Five votes Kyle, four votes Dave.

...Dave. We are tied. Five votes Kyle, five votes Dave.

...Kyle. Six votes Kyle, five votes Dave.

Kyle: I am so (bleep)ed.

Jeff Probst: ...Dave. We are tied once again. Six votes Kyle, six votes Dave, one vote left.

Jeff takes the final vote out of the voting urn, but does not announce it right away. Everybody leans forward, not saying a word.

Jeff Probst: Eighth person voted out, and the first member of our jury...

...Dave. That's seven votes. That's enough, please bring me your torch.

Dave: WHAT?!

Most of the tribe, including everyone from the original Kamakura, sits still, utterly speechless and with shocked expressions. Landon turns to his Ashikaga allies and grins smugly as Dave grabs his torch and places it in front of Jeff.

Jeff Probst: Dave, the tribe has spoken.

Jeff snuffs Dave's torch, officially eliminating him from the game.

Dave: Wow.

Jeff Probst: It is time for you to go.

Dave promptly leaves the tribal council area, disappearing into the forest. Donna glares at Patrick, Reyna, and Emma, knowing that one of them flipped. Emma looks as if she is wondering whether or not she did the right thing.

Jeff Probst: Well, if there is one definite takeaway from tonight's vote, it's that the chaos is just beginning. Grab your stuff. Head back to camp. Good night.

The remaining eleven members of Kasai grab their torches and few belongings and depart for their camp.

Dave Voted Out

Voting Confessionals

Dave Ellerman, you have been found guilty of conspiring to eliminate the remaining members of the original Ashikaga. You are hereby sentenced to be voted off the island.

–Bryce (voting for Dave)

If you ever come up to Alaska, the drinks are on me. Take care, pal.

–Chuck (voting for Kyle)

For tonight, taking out your alliance's strongest member isn't an option, so we'll just have to take out your alliance's smartest member instead. You should be honored, really, to be identified as a threat early on.

–Dave (voting for Kyle)

This wasn't the original plan, but since we can't vote for Bryce tonight, you'll have to do. Nothing personal.

–Donna (voting for Kyle)

You're a bigger threat than Kyle is. This isn't an easy decision to make, but I've got to do what's best for me, even if it means screwing others over.

–Emma (voting for Dave)

Nothing personal. Just strategy.

Landon's plan had better work. Otherwise this vote won't mean anything.

Donna's a more obvious target than you are, and you're probably the brightest remaining member of the original Kamakura. Unless I really did scare you into giving up the idol, in which case you're a grade A moron.

–Landon (voting for Dave)

It's time for the ponytail express to leave Survivor station.

–Patrick (voting for Kyle)

After this, I'm not sure if anyone in your alliance will be smart enough to stop me.

–Phoebe (voting for Dave)

This is Kamakura's camp. You're not welcome here.

–Reyna (voting for Kyle)

You seem nice enough, but you're also a threat. And in Survivor, you want to get rid of the threats. Just strategy. I'm sure you'll understand.

Final Words

...Wow. I'd be lying if I said I had any clue this was coming. But props to Ashikaga for attempting to shake things up. Landon really did trick Chuck and I into giving up our idol, and Donna into playing it, and Bryce did a good job keeping the idol a secret. Chuck, I'm rooting for you. Hopefully whoever flipped goes home next.
