Robert Stineman is a contestant from Survivor: Santa Cruz Islands.
Name (Age): Robert Stineman (34)
Tribe Designation: Temotu
Current Residence: Philadelphia, PA
Occupation: Theatre Director
Personal Claim to Fame: Continuously working on my craft to get where I am today. I shifted from music to acting at an earlier age, and it's the best thing to ever happen to me. It's very liberating.
Inspiration in Life: The city of Philadelphia. It's known for jerks and people that are loud, but they all still love this place in their own little way. And that's what fantastic about this place. You have this cast of characters that live here, and they never cease to amaze you...good or bad.
Hobbies: Participating in theatre and watching theatre. They may encompass most of my life and time, but I'm always for anything that tells a riveting story.
Pet Peeves: Talent mismanagement and blatant ignorance as a whole.
3 Words to Describe You: Passionate, Determined, Optimistic
If You Could Have 3 Things on The Island What Would They Be and Why? Very simple. A pen, some paper, and a nice drink for me to enjoy while I write out my experience.
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Jonathan Penner for his cadence and storytelling. I'm a storyteller in my own right, so I believe I will share his enthusiasm for the game and how it will play out.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: This is essentially theatre but in the flesh. All of these backstories aren't something spontaneously created. These are real people and their stories are very real as well. This seems like an experience of a lifetime.
Why You Think You’ll “Survive” SURVIVOR: I've worked with people of different backgrounds many a time, so the premise of this game is right up my alley.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole SURVIVOR: I want to do anything in my power to fulfill the universal goal of Day 39. I will not do anything intentionally malicious, but I want to see all of the story unfold firsthand. I cannot do that if I'm not in the game for its entirety.
Survivor: Santa Cruz Islands
Robert was one of the nine members of the Temotu tribe. Early on, on Day 3, Robert went to collect tree mail alone. After grabbing tree mail, Robert decided to search for a hidden immunity idol nearby. What he did not know initially was that Jocelyn Peck and Katherine Webb had seen him searching while they were grabbing kindle for the fire. This created a stigma over him as he immediately became an outsider on the tribe. Another outsider, Amy Young was quick to align with him, but the pair was still outnumbered by the new majority alliance of Katherine, Jocelyn, Troyzan Robertson, Mike Gregory, and Derek Richardson. Robert remained a target for much of the pre-merge phase of the game as he continued his search for an idol on Day 5. Unfortunately for him, Mike was quick to pursue him and his search, even finding the hidden immunity idol that Robert had sought out for so long. But through all of the bad luck, his alliance eventually started to grow around him. After Derek and Jocelyn voiced their dissatisfaction with their position within Troyzan's alliance, Amy corralled them in, making it two alliances of four after Troyzan brought in Justin Passmore as a back-up plan. This left Melanie Pointer as the swing vote, but on Day 13, Temotu's first Tribal Council, Melanie was voted out due to her condition worsening by the day. However, Robert's target remained squarely on him as she cast the sole vote against him. On Day 16, everything changed for Robert when the tribes were shuffled and he was placed on the new Fatutaka tribe with Troyzan, Katherine, and Mike. He was put in a pivotal position as he could stay loyal to his former Temotus or he could flip over to the original Fatutakas, Alvin Drew Jr. and Gaby Moreno, to create a tie and potentially draw rocks. On Day 18, when Fatutaka went to their first Tribal Council as a new tribe, Robert stayed true to his former Temotus, voting off Alvin and learning that Mike had found the hidden immunity idol he had been looking for a couple weeks prior. After eliminating Gaby on Day 20, the four remaining members of the new Fatutaka travelled back to the Temotu beach the next day as the two tribes would merge. The target then shifted to the only two original Fatutakas left, Andrew Green and Jordan Owens. After they both lost out on immunity, Andrew and Jordan searched for a hidden immunity idol with the former finding one in front of Amy and Jocelyn. The two girls then reported the news back to the other six, who would split the votes to ensure their safety. That night, both Andrew and Jordan played idols to negate any and all votes cast against them, leaving everyone but Troyzan, who had won immunity earlier that day, vulnerable. Ultimately, Katherine and Jocelyn received votes and on the revote, Robert could only watch as his ally Jocelyn was blindsided. This left a void for Amy, Derek, and Robert, who were at a numbers disadvantage with Jocelyn's departure, but the target still remained on Andrew and Jordan. But after Andrew showed Amy what was thought to be another hidden immunity idol, the tables turned on Troyzan and his alliance as the two groups of Amy, Andrew, Derek, Jordan, and Robert blindsided the returning player in a shocking 5-4 vote. Even after the blindside, Andrew was still not done making moves. He approached Robert and Derek in the hopes of blindsiding Amy now that she had his fake idol in her possession. However, when Mike stumbled upon the plan, Robert and Derek became hesitant on actually pulling the move off. The two then went to Amy with the news of her blindside, making her irate and wanting to exact revenge. Amy went to Justin, Katherine, and Mike to organize another blindside against either Andrew or Jordan. When Andrew won immunity, the six remaining Temotus banded back together and took Jordan out of the game. In response to Jordan's departure, Andrew mustered up two more immunity victories, pitting the two alliances of former Temotu members against each other once again. After Katherine's convincing argument to Andrew of how Derek was his biggest threat and Amy mismanaged her words, Andrew sided with the remnants of Troyzan's alliance to take out Derek and Amy consecutively. On Day 37, Andrew's immunity streak ended to the fortune of Robert, who thought he was next to go. But that night, Andrew shocked everyone when he played another hidden immunity idol and targeted Mike instead of Robert, much to his pleasant surprise. The next day, Andrew won final immunity and approached Robert, whom he had developed a good relationship with over the merge, in the hopes of creating a tie at that night's Tribal Council. This plan became reality as Katherine and Robert were forced into a fire-making tiebreaker on the eve of Final Tribal Council. Illy prepared for the tiebreaker, Robert was outmatched by Katherine and became the final member of the jury. He voted for his friend Andrew to be the Sole Survivor.
